We need a reality check about the status of Iran's navy, none of the Mowj class ships are in a respectable final position or really able to defend themselves. Shahid Soleimani class are more promising but I am not convinced they are in full operational status either (one IRGC general says they are equipped with new Qadr-474 2000km cruise missiles, another says they have medium range air-defence missiles, but we don't see evidence of any of this), but even if they are they exist in tiny numbers (1-2?).
Deylaman still doesn't have its radars installed, and don't even ask about VLS.
As for submarines, there is radio silence except for rare news about plans to construct much larger submarines, which we can take with a very large pinch of salt.
Ideally:
- Fully equipped Mowj-class vessel in Deylaman standard (with radars actually installed and with VLS) should become standard for Mowj-class, end the constant iterations of nonsense creating a Frankenstein collection of impotent and half-completed ships
- Mass production of Shahed Soleimani ships with tests for Sayyad-3 and Qadr-474 missiles
- Mass production of Fateh-4 submarine with AIP (Fateh-2 and 3 claimed to be in production but also lack AIP)
Logistical / command ships are in better shape, despite recent sinkings/accidents.
Then you can start putting together a respectable fleet that can travel within the immediate region and actually mean something. But sadly this does not exist yet.
