Apparently the number of logistical support ships created from the conversion of large commercial ships will increase

New image taken in the "Isoiko Shipbuilding Industries" shipyards where 2 oil tankers are being converted into logistics support ships, it is indicated that they will enter service under the names "Khuzestan" and "Kurdistan", as the Makran 441 should be intended for the Iranian Navy (IRIN)
In the photo it is possible to glimpse on one of the two a platform which, as for the Makran, will serve the helicopters, this is the former oil tanker
Tabukan IMO 8917467, formerly ex FOLEGANDROS (name reappeared during the works) Gross Tonnage 29506, DWT (t) 45425, Length Overall (m)183, Beam (m) 32, year of construction 1992, therefore smaller in size and displacement than the Makran 441 (Length Overall (m) 228 metres, Beam (m) 42 m, DWT (t) 55909 GT, DWT (t) 105319 )

X Iran Naval Force has published a new image of the Bagheri, here I tried to improve the photo slightly, from which you can partially see the new flight deck structure suspended outside the hull

I know people will laugh at me, but for the past two weeks, I've been looking at how very large crude carriers can be used for their vast expanse of deck space for maintenance of UAV fleets ashore, at a fraction of the cost of full-blown fleet carriers, light carriers, helicopter carriers, LPDs, cruisers, destroyers or frigates with space for multiple rotary winged aircraft, and all those.

I was shocked to see from this article that someone has already done something concrete about it.

Looking at the published photo, if as it seems it is one of the Daylaman 78 engines, it has numerous points in common with the Caterpillar engines that I have marked with blue arrows, it could be the Caterpillar 3516C HD 3005HP model.
Now the question is whether this engine is produced in Iran, or somehow they managed to evade sanctions and purchase it on the foreign market

I think yes;

At least some years ago was presented a heavy duty naval diesel engine. I don´t know if it is the same reverse engineered Caterpillar. But it may be in the same class.

Anyway this model of engine it is the same of Sahand, so some standarization has been done (Kamand CIWS and propulsion).

I like this a lot, a ground-based version would be excellent too

it could also be possible that they installed 6 more kamikaze drone canisters on the other side, however they installed them instead of the 4 canisters for anti-aircraft missiles,

which would seem like a strange choice, because it would compromise the anti-aircraft defense capability, or they moved the canister for SAMs such as the Dena 75 to the bow.
or there are actually only 6 canisters for kamikaze drones and on the other hand there are 2 canisters left for SAMs, in any case the anti-aircraft defense capabilities would be halved
