Iranian President Raisi and Foreign Minister Abdollahian die in helicopter crash in East Azerbaijan

Based on Rouhani Chief Of Staff,

Pilot hit the mountain dead on. How? Probably got the altitude wrong. In 2024 a simple topography digital screen could have provided redundancy measures to the analog instruments.

Of course his Chief of Staff will say weather was perfect and that suddenly one cloud appeared…..deflecting criticism and admission of incompetence is hallmark behavior with these idiots

Yeah it would've helped to have digital terrain-mapping & imaging, which is what most newer helicopters have standard, especially attack helos and if not, they get upgraded with them especially if flying over mountainous terrain like that.

Even boats have underwater topographic imagery technology that comes in a range of capabilities. I have a Garmin GPS/fish-finder and it has some underwater topographic maps already built in it and you can even upgrade the Micro-SD card for more advanced maps. I can even overlap my radar onto my navigation map so that I have the best of both worlds on the screen and I do that especially when I'm in heavy fog with barely 20-30 meters of visibility. Heck even the Russians are using simple GPSs in some of their older Su-24s & Su-25s that lack that stuff. So it's not like just because the helo is old and these instruments aren't built in that there aren't thousands of other simple and relatively inexpensive options. But I don't believe that's the case.

No way is it fair to assume this professional military outfit isn't aware of all of this and then some. That's ridiculous and I would be the last to ever imply such a thing.

Which is why because of all the things we know for sure so far, it seems more likely this was either pilot error or a technical failure of some kind which happens even to the best of the best.

No wonder it took nearly 24 hours to find the wreckage - General Sandwhich was in charge of the IRGC rescue effort.

Hey that's just old school stuff, man. Nothing wrong with that and the only thing I would add is whatever failures occurred in this unfortunate event could've happened to anyone and there is no doubt that it'll be a learning experience and there will be major changes and improvements made.

Correct. However, why was this footage taken and why on earth was it released?!

Something is organizationally wrong.

What footage? The only one I saw was the rescue team arriving to the crash site and the one or two bodies that were laying there and the tearful commentating. That was heavy, but I'm not aware of any other footage?

? I’m referring to the footage of the war room controlling the rescue efforts.

Ah, I see what you mean. I thought you were talking about some footage of the helicopter crash.

Maybe they're just being upfront with the people and showing them that they were concerned and trying everything they can to find the president and FM? Even if it was staged, I personally think the intentions were good & honest. But that's just me I like to give the pros the benefit of the doubt in almost every case, especially where there doesn't seem to be a reason why they would be up to something shady. But then again, you Iranian fellas would know a lot more about that than me.

ImI’m sure the intentions were good. I still think these things shouldn’t be published.

At this point, I’m assuming security errors rather than unpredictable accidents. Enough is enough.

As for the ‘detection’ it’s less about the detection technology itself and more so about transmission. I wouldn’t assume satellite communication at all given Iran’s land and UAV middleman tech which enables alternate communications channels.

There is work arounds to that. A S-171 or Gaza or Satcom variant S-129 can act as a signal relayer between ground control station and the drones scanning the mountains. Patrames and others claimed Iran had this capability years ago.

Do I expect them to do this for any one who goes missing ? No, but for the President and FM of Iran? Absolutely. It’s astonshint the lack of resources they devoted to this. You would think a random chopper of lower level IRGC officials had crashed by the lack of urgency.

It seems this country has made zero advancement since the Bam Earthquack. Again Even asking the ‘Great Satan’ for assistance.

It has been passed a week, and i think this is a tragedy event for iranians and decent world.

Not just Raesi, Amir was a great foreign minister, it s a big lost, i only can say rest in peace, God is the greatest.

Hopefully iran has a strong leadership, Iran needs a very tough foreing rule, that way if this incident ir provoked all conspiracy will fail, hope Iran brings more tough decision, more military advancements, more enrichment,... Iran needs to be united and strong, and count with natural allies, arabs, afgans and pakistanis, also indians if they fix their behavour.

South western asia must reign, i think they can be the best, and enemies tries to make us hate us all the time, and create fake differences, don t let them win, strong iranian leadership, that is not an appeaser is really needed, a strong armed one, capable to live with stick policy if needed.

Long story short initial report result :

4) The helicopter that had the accident caught fire after hitting the height (terrain at height).

And wait for full detailed report as it may take more time.

Goodness.this is pure accident...the helicopter is an old one travelling in a bad weather..

Goodness, you have no evidence to prove it unless of course you're part of the investigation team...there were two other older choppers which are more sluggish which managed to do just fine in the same condition.
