Israel Genocide in Gaza - 2023 to present - Part ll

this is a bad deal. Hamas accepted all of Israel's demands. No Hamas fighters involved in October 7th attacks will be released, senior Palestinian leaders (such as Marwan Barghouti) unjustly detained will not be released, Israel will control 53% of Gaza even after their first phase withdrawal, and will control the border with Egypt and a huge buffer zone for the foreseeable future. And Hamas will release all living and dead hostages at once with no guarantee of a second phase.

But no one can criticise Hamas for accepting this deal. The situation is desperate and although they fought well against overwhelming odds, they were not able to consistently inflict the level of harm on Israel that would be needed to turn Israeli public opinion against the war.

Not sure if it’s a bad deal for Hamas. Hamas thought the hostages were a great leverage, and the pressure from the hostage’s families could end Israel’s assault. Netanyahu and his government clearly didn’t (and don’t) care for the hostages.

So for Hamas to give up the Israeli hostages is a good strategy, especially if recognized by the US as a big step from Hamas. Even leaving the Gaza administration, and handing it over to Palestinian technocrats is a good move.

It would be a bad deal if Hamas decided to completely disarm and have its tunnel destroyed, without getting any practical assurances from the US, and enforcement measures on Israel for a permanent ceasefire and a pathway to a 2-state solution. I am not sure that’s what Hamas has agreed to

This seems to be the most reasonable analysis.

There was simply no military (or financial) leverage that could be exerted against Tel Aviv. Any available leverage was political, social, and/or humanitarian - and such leverage types will almost never restore a pre-war status quo.

The outcome that the entity of Palestine (specifically Gaza) and even Hamas as an organisation have simply survived an attempted extermination must therefore be seen as a "victory" for the Palestinians.

True restitution of any just or fair solution will take generational change in western public opinion - never achievable in 2 years! That generational change might ultimately result in the financial pressure being applied to Tel Aviv that is a plausible means to achieve a proper solution.

Hamas did best it could in given conditions and paid heavy price while so called muslim world stood by doing basically nothing, so in my opinion they achieved stalemate with positive and negative effects long term, their biggest victory is that they exposed jews occupational subject as genocidal entity deprived of any human constrains and gained worldwide recognized palestinian struggle and cause. now it is it time for them to take a rest and give chance to the people of Gaza regaining hope and life without daily fear again.
Good post. Exposing the cruel, racist state of Israel and its Lobby in America was the Gazans' biggest achievement for long term changes in which the political class in America itself has awakening: Look at what even the MAGA like Tucker Carlson, Steve Bannon, and Marjorie T. Green say about Israel now. And look at how there is a clear majority of the youth in the Democratic Party who favor the Palestinians. They are NOT small achievements because Israel's seat of power lies in its control over the American political class.

But no one can criticise Hamas for accepting this deal. The situation is desperate and although they fought well against overwhelming odds, they were not able to consistently inflict the level of harm on Israel that would be needed to turn Israeli public opinion against the war.

It became a hopeless situation as soon as the northern fronts folded.

It is basically just the American political class, media, financial giants; Europe is already lost as far as Israel is concerned.

I agree.

But we can't ask more to poor Gazatians. They're the new stalingrad's survivors.

You're right is deal is sh*t. But everybody will be watching. And In my oppinion the Palestinians cause won't be forgotten never.

The level of depravity of Israel and the insane support of US have CHANGED FOREVER the point of view of Palestinian issue.

At the point of view of the Human Rights Israel Lost the war miserably. And EU publics oppinion, among much others won't tolerate this slow moving ethnic cleansing in West Bank, let alone a Israeli violation of the cesasefire in West Bank.

The people of the World moved Trump and the EU to a step forward. Yes, It is shameful but worlds people did It. And we can be proud. Christian, muslim and even many of jewish people DID IT.

The killing stops. Immediately the Palestinians get urgent aide. If current situation prevails there is no Gaza. Regroup - let the world see what Israel has done in Gaza - its imperative all evidence of war crime and genocide are logged. The world will continue the pressure on Netanyahu - he needs to be put on trial for war crimes.

The new X algorithm has been randomly deleting tweets or muting videos - I ran an experiment by liking and bookmarking 1002 tweets that were exposing Israeli violence in Gaza - 809 of them were either deleted or had the audio muted.

This ceasefire only happened because Israel dropped its 'surrender and disarm ' clause

Question is who/what made them drop it ?
