It's just not the machine but the complete environment. PAF chase for F16V.

Because f16 is a battle tested jet whereas jf17 is unproven and jf17 is light weight jet whereas f16 is medium weight jet

I'm not sure that 'battle tested' is a factor. Perhaps 'medium weight' means that you can load more powerful systems on it.

F16 was started as a light-weight project and converted into medium weight jet over the time but jf17 is light-weight jet with little room for improvement

That light weight was is in the USAF context and load carrying capacity, given their heavy weights were the likes of F-15s and F-4s. Though F-16s have increased its payloads since the early blocks now.

Having different jets from different manufacturers also gives your enemy more headaches in terms of accounting for multitudes of threats from platforms of different capabilities, varied array of weapons and thus different employments.

Helps PAF with keeping it's options open. If the entire PAF was made up if JF-17s and Russia stopped the RD-93 support you would be screwed.

World is going to standardize and reduce types of jet to lower maintenance and logistics costs

And as for RD-93 China is developed WS-13 but we are not satisfied with it and also China is developing another medium class engine named WS-19 for J35 it could be fitted with jf17 in future

JF-17 Thunder evolved from modest JF-17A Block-I to Block-II , Dual Seater Bravo, to its current iteration of JF-17 Block-III :

- Strengthened Wings & Structure
- Composites Percentage Added
- Hybrid MAWS
- AESA Radar
- Upgraded Avionics Suite

- Long Shot BVR Missile

In essence and with the Airframe Limitations , Few experts believe this is the end of the road interms of major Block Type Upgrade for Thunder since it has maxed out its Potential as Cost Effective 4.5 Generation Multi Role.



While that may be true - the potential to upgrade Sub Systems , Munitions, Capabilities & even power plant remains open at the disposal of Pakistan Airforce. The Tight Budgetary situation and diverting funds towards Heavier Omni - role in the fray J-10C , has somewhat halted the progress of current JF-17C and future Upgrades. Yet J-10CE and JF-17 Block-3 in a mix of High - Low Combo share a great Leverage : A common technology platform. J-10CE and JF-17 Block-3 will form the new mainstay of the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) combat aircraft fleet. However, one can readily guess that the J-10CE and JF-17 will make up a “high-low mix” – i.e., a combination of a larger, “high-end” fighter complemented by a smaller, “low-end” fighters in greater numbers. Historically, the PAF would induct new technologies through a high-cost platform that it would induct in limited numbers, at least initially. However, with the JF-17 Block-3, the PAF is getting marque capabilities found on its ‘high-end’ platform (i.e., J-10CE) through a mainstay asset it can acquire in numbers. The Taimoor ALCM could be a sign of the PAF investing in the JF-17 going down the line.

Pakistan is reportedly offering its Taimoor air-launched cruise missile (ALCM) for export. It may package this ALCM with the new JF-17 Block-3.

You are missing conformal fuel tank in your list. It's critical for maritime patrol, deep pnetration and it frees up hard points for more munitions. Considering the limited air to air refueling assets in service, buddy refueling would also be a priority for me.
