JF-17 - Updates, News & Discussion

Jordan has no real reason to buy jf-17 they are not as closely alligned with china as other Middle Eastern nations and already have f-16Vs on order. Not to mention as before a competent country like jordan with pl-15s and fighters they can’t sanction is a great threat to israel

Just my guess

Guys, I need some help ... as far as I remember in the old forum there was once a thread likely named "jf17-6 and jf20 are self made models for military enthusiasts" showing these well-known and often claimed as JF-17 Block 4 + or whatever models but it was built by a Chinese modeller:

I think it even included an interview said Chinese enthusiast.

Does anyone know if it or the original report is still available?

Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, NI (M), HJ, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, held a series of high-level engagements with Air Chiefs from friendly countries on the sidelines of the Dubai Airshow 2025. During the visit, Chief of the Air Staff also held comprehensive discussions with Lieutenant General Pilot Ibrahim Nasser Al-Alawi, Undersecretary of Defence UAE, and Major General Rashid Mohammed Al-Shamsi, Commander UAE Air Force & Air Defence.

The discussions centred on strengthening cooperation in advanced training, fostering collaboration in emerging aerospace technologies and enhancing the mechanisms for effective operational coordination. The UAE military leadership lauded Pakistan Air Force’s modernization initiatives and growing indigenous capabilities with a shared resolve to further strengthen military engagement through joint exercises, professional exchanges and forward-looking partnerships.

Pakistan Air Force contingent has arrived in the United Arab Emirates to participate in the Dubai Airshow 2025. The contingent features advanced JF-17 Thunder Block-III and the renowned Super Mushshak trainer aircraft, reflecting Pakistan’s growing expertise in indigenous military aviation.

During the event, the JF-17 Thunder Block-III emerged as a major focal point, drawing significant attention from defence analysts, aviation specialists and visitors. Its cutting-edge technology, strong combat capabilities and proven operational performance in Marka-e-Haq reinforced its reputation as a highly capable and cost-effective multirole fighter.

Demonstrating increasing international confidence in Pakistan’s aviation industry, several countries expressed interest in acquiring the JF-17 Thunder. In a noteworthy development, an MoU was signed with a friendly country for the procurement of the JF-17 Thunder, marking another significant milestone in Pakistan’s expanding defence and industrial partnerships.

Iraq literally bought pantsirs during the height of WOT and when Russia was under sanctions due to it's annexation of Crimea, Americans influence on Iraq was far stronger back then yet they didn't stop them from purchasing it why would they stop them now? Egypt and Morroco both of them are firmly US allies but the Americans didn't stop them from purchasing HQ-9s,

the whole reason the Iraqis are looking to buy JF-17s is because their F-16s are in poor shape, the whole Amreeka won't allow it talking point is pretty retarded
Theres a certain difference between air defence systems and mordern 4.5 gen aircraft with missiles that took down the best western fighter jets. I get why the Iraqis are buying but the us is likely more than ever to veto or pressure either party out of their sale so they keep their influence on iraqi air defence. A possible trade of jf-17s for iraqs deteriorated f-16 fleet is possible but that still requires American approval and i do not see them as particularly willing to lose what bargaining chips they have with iraq for more limited gain with pakistan

ALLAH karay that we r proved wrong n u right..
But will only happen once iran is taken care off.

Though the Indians always celebrate Pakistan’s tragedies and losses, I feel we must show grace and refrain from doing the same on this sad loss of life! On the battlefield it is different but in an airshow humanity should prevail over enmity!

I agree, but these sobs have also been mocking dead Palestinian children for two years

PAC and associated partner industries are now manufacturing 76% of jf17 in house. Some achievement.

How much of the airframe manufacturing is being done in Pakistan now ? it was 56% from the last update from PAC. Are they importing any airframe assembly components from China? ( ie the load bearing mid section was very problematic to try and build in Pakistan ).
