yea but we're good at making tall claims we cant back up.
just two years ago we were crying for an alternative source for wiring harnesses from abroad because catic was being funny and we couldnt make them ourselves

No way - they paid for a package deal of airframe, training, new support tools and infrastructure, weapons, upfront spare parts and direct support package for the lifetime of the airframe or some set number of years, all blended into one.

Additionally, we are not discussing the possible(real) level of customisation options that Azerbaijan requested as changes to the platform which itself would have taken a time and material basis to make, certify and then get ready for manufacturing.
It is good to see Azerbijan to start to get their birds. Hopefully we can then start to see some part of the manufacturing line dedicated back to PAF orders to help replace the remaining F7PG's and of course, the large remaining fleet of Mirages.

more i think about it, the more i suspect Qatar may be the next customer, lots of circumstantial evidence
We have flown JF-17C in exercises with them a lot
they gave up Eurofighters to Turkiye
Israeli strike maybe made them lose some faith in their western set up
still large number of Pak advisors in QAF
qatar being mentioned for Pak-Qatar defence agreement similar to Saudi one
I could be wrong but I am veering to Qatar here

The restriction on the Pakistan Armed Forces being more "actively" involved in the defence of these middle eastern countries has been the sensitivity of having Pakistani officers having proximity to, or the operation of the latest western systems like the F15/Rafale/F16 Block 60's/Typhoons due to their concern of passage of information to China.
So, as you say, the solution to the multitude of riddles is having Pakistani officers operating Pakistani weapons(JF17C's/J10CE's/J-35A's/Kaan etc) in the middle east itself.
This will help the Americans to eventually leave the middle east ( to the extent Israel will allow them to leave of course ) and for a friendly country to the USA ie Pakistan to fill that void and help the middle east defend themselves. A more favourable outcome then allowing the Indian's to fill the void, but also strategically important as India may become a problem for the USA down the road and Pakistan will never(too small to become that problem), and of course the India-Israel combo will sow more chaos in the middle east as shown in India's help to Israel in the Iran-Israel war this year. The middle east will be far more comfortable working with Pakistan both than 'Modi's' India anyway right now.
The crash of the Tejas is quite symbolic as it in itself, it is the crashing of India's middle east strategy as well as the jet.
Saudi Arabia will be more likely than Iran right now, due to the strategic defence agreement imho. All speculation.
