Kylian Mbappe apologises after ‘dictator’ comment angers Chinese fans

I think putting Mao who is centre to the Chinese communism and its ideology and culture is similar to putting him in the same realm as jesus for christians or muhammad for muslims.

For me I do not see it that way because i have family on both sides but for many that is how it works.
I feeling for Mao is mixed too because of my family background. On national level, he is a historical giant with some serious flaws.

You are too naive. This behavior is actually a competition among Western countries for the right to characterize and speak about historical figures in our country, and is the infiltration of culture and values. That's why the Chinese people directly turned against Mbappe, collectively boycotting and imposing sanctions. We are not political fools, the 5000 year history of the empire that dominated the East has already given us enough experience.

I am not saying that I agree with that French football player or some Western China or PRC haters. I am just saying Mao is not perfect or God, he made some serious mistakes.

Was he wrong about Mao?

Should he have said "Mao was a Pakistani dictator" instead or?

Whats the problem here?

I think the ultimate respect for Chairman Mao is not to worship him as a god, but as a consolidation effort for China's materialistic disciplinary.

Yes i agree my point was to call one a dictator is to call all of them dictators however christians and muslims wouldn't approve im guessing

what if he said muhammad is a dictator?

He could. Freedom of expression. But he didnt.

But Mao wasnt a dictator? Starved and killed millions with his Great Jump Ahead and Cultural Revolution and One-Party State?

If Mao was not a dictator, then Stalin wasnt also.

thats not the point is it?

If he called muhammad a dictator no one would get angry is that your point? Because your point is that Chinese should not get angry at his comment about Mao.

In reality we know that a billion people would call for mbappes head if he said that so lets not play ignorant.

How do i know this? Well french cartoon make a joke about muhammad and it led to terrorist attack killing many people. So you are just playing coy and hypocrite.

Call Mao a dictator and lose some sponsorships

Call Muhammad a dictator and likely lose your life if ur a celeb

So lets not play hypocrite and low iq talking points.

For the Chinese people, there is a truth we must never forget: the West will never accept China’s full rise. Technological blockades, military containment, economic suppression, and media smears have never stopped.

We do not live in a peaceful world; we live in a nation strong enough to defend its own peace.

This is the clarity we must never lose.

And this peace exists because some have silently sacrificed.
In times of peace, there are heroes unknown to us all — we may never even know their names.
Where do they rest?
Some lie in martyrs' cemeteries across the land; some remain scattered in the wilderness and remote villages; some have not even left behind enough remains to be found.
At the Monument to Unknown Heroes on the Western Hills in Beijing, the names of 846 martyrs are engraved on the wall.

Today you can mock Stalin and Mao. Because you have God's perspective. But back to Mao's era, Soviet Union's model was rather successful and promising. Many countries wanted to copy this model, especially for backward countries like China.

Maybe 50 years later, the whole world will mock USA and EU for their stupid democracy. Who knows.

  • I suggest you watch Jingzhe Wusheng.
建议大家去看《惊蛰无声》。但更要记住:电影只是现实的缩影,真正的无声暗战,比银幕上更隐蔽、更漫长、也更惨烈。
