Mate, air defense are no replacement for air power. Air defense as the name imply meant that your on the defense. When you are on the defense, that imply that initiative will be on the attackers, while you're compelled to wait for the attack which could come anytime without warning.

The biggest downside for Bangladesh has always been it's understrength air force. If Dhaka could secure just one squadron worth of truly modern 4th gen jet, then the equation will tilt once more to Bangladesh.

Ukraine has 1/10th the AirPower of Russia but has air defences to balance the equation.

but at the same time you are ignoring the fact that Myanmar since last 4 years operating KILO class submarines which are very dangerous for your surface fleet as well as your ming class submarines which are very older designs..... KILO even today so dangerous and known as BLACK HOLE for a reason....

As of now naval and ariel advantage is in Myanmar favor but Bangladesh military is strong, disciplined maybe well trained than Myanmar military not to mention Myanmar army already facing tough times from various separation forces from their own country..... so here Bangladesh looks strong.....

Contrary to popular belief, BD is not the densest country in the world.

Actually Bangladesh is among top 10 most densely populated countries..... it's density is more than double than India.... however this is not going to remain forever as both India and Bangladesh are seeing rapid fall in population growth.....

That's what I came to write too,that a war between Myanmar and Bangladesh would be very interesting from a defence and military point of view. A humanitarian disaster of course,but from a military point of view,it would be very interesting. Also,let's not forget the huge manpower Bangladesh has. If one country in the world needs Lebensraum,that's Bangladesh Look how small that country is for 100,000,000 people! There's no space left!

Bangladesh may see humiliation in case of war with Burma.... Myanmar airforce will start taking out naval bases, industrial hubs, civilian and military air ports..... only FM90 will not be enough and China may delay additional deliveries to Bangladesh in favor of Myanmar.....

Burmese navy will wreck havoc on the Bangladesh surface fleet with the deadly kilos armed with klub missiles.... we may even see Bangladesh loosing its st.martin Islands.....

Only problem for Burma is Bangladesh strong disciplined and well trained army but Burmese army is battle hardened with years of wars with insurgencies within country and in arakan jungle they can ambush Bangladesh troops and it can be a Bangladesh's Vietnam.....

Bangladesh with growing economy had chance to take their military to next level especially after 2017 Rohingya refugee issue but no.... they are just like India.... we both procrastinate the things and this is what they deserve....

BD will then fund a full insugency with the rebels being supplied with small arms and ammunition that BD domestically produces.

Forget about bombing BD as Myanmar will be more worried about not being destroyed by BA/rebels that will form a temporary alliance against a common enemy.

Lastly 60 modern jets will still require some time to take out the BAF(8 modernised Mig-29s and 40 F-7s of varying capability with the 16 F-7 BGIs being the best) and in the meantime, BD/rebels will unleash themselves on Myanmar.

BN is still superior to MN but the MAF will be the big problem as the FM-90N may not be enough to defend against MAF anti-ship attacks, although the missile is well capable of engaging sea skimming missiles.

I agree that BD is an idiot for not upgrading to at least a MRSAM network and also buying 1-2 squadrons of western 4+ generation fighters like Eurofighter since 2017. It is expensive but much rather delay a nuclear power station for 5 years as you cannot put a price on national security.

The barman army is not there in Arakan. You will have to fight the Arakan army. Which does not have an airforce. The army only controls the town of sittwe.
