The Love Boat: Opening and Closing Themes

okay so this show caused the explosion in the cruiseship industry...but gawd...just kill me now.

Interesting when Princess Cruises sold the boat they had the actor (Gavin MacLeod) who played the ship's Captain in the tv show back it out of the NYC port

Technically I don't fully qualify because still in my late 50s but, hey, almost there.
My background: Born and raised in Karachi into my mid 20s. Even went to the same early schooling as @baqai but, unlike him, I didn't have the brain to survive a Catholic missionary school so I transferred to an easier school. Haha.
My 80s were ruined by the General Zia ul Haq regime. You know, the teen ages and early 20s are supposed to be great time of our lives but, no, he ruined it for all Pakistanis. In just 11 years he turned a Sufi oriented Islamic country to the hell it became. Enough said here as I don't want to go into politics.
But 80s were still very good for me as my family background was/is solid upper middle class. They even sent me to America in early 90s and fully paid for my tuition/travel/room-board etc. My greatest time in life would be from the early 90s into mid 2000s. The 90s were like the tv show 'Wonder Years'. We oldies should recall that!! We should also recall how the internet was coming up: In just a few years, I went from hand written greeting cards and letters to/from Pakistan to emails, text chats (ICQ, if you recall!): The last physical greeting card was in 1996.
And speaking of the 90s! What wouldn't I give to relive the 'Wonder Years'! I was a poor student but the local state parks, the vastness and openness of America, the change of seasons with colors changing and having to live a stone throw from a theater/cinema for years between 1992-1999 enabled me to watch the greatest movies ever, which are still talked about: The Shawshank Redemption, Dracula, Interview with Vampire, Pulp Fiction, The English Patient, Unforgiven....
And I lost my virginity to a chick when nearly 28. LOL!
I want the 90s back!! Maybe there is some 'The Twilight Zone' to enable that for me??!!

S.T Lawrence Alumnus FTW !!!!

Being a catholic all boys school graduate prepares you very early for martial law :p

During my last visit to Pakistan in December 2019, wife and I almost met you in Karachi. But it was a whirlwind trip for us: We were there for barely 15 days together (I stayed 3 extra days after she left) and of those half were spent in hotels or even very long train ride from Karachi to Pindi. The rest few days were in the family house in Karachi. I am going to plan to meet you next time when I am in Karachi, which could be as early as coming 2-3 weeks!
As for the St. Lawrence Alumnus: YOU are one. I chickened out after 1-2 semesters/terms. It was TOUGH! I dare say it would be tougher than most schools in America looking at the 'High School Graduates' I find here. LOL!
@Fatman17 : I am not technically 60 yet but very close. VERY close! Not that I want to rush it!! But I will at least start drawing one pension when that happens. And so I hope I am allowed some 'honorary' to post here. LOL!

You mentioned school. I'm a St Mary's Murree road and lalazar alum. Pindi boy but not living there anymore.

Oh come one guys. Let's posts personal experiences rather than music videos. I mean, Elvis the Pelvis and Beatles were before my time but I too can post their videos.
How about the Dial Up internet? Anyone recalls the piles of America Online CDs in mail? Or the 14 kbps dial up internet speeds?? The sounds of the modem dialing? The Answering Machines on your landline phones? The payphone booths? The Collect Calls calls?

Somethings we're trying to forget.

At one point, we were getting 3-5 AOL CDs in the mail per week. Made excellent coasters for coffee cups.

Dial-up? My first modem was 2400 baud. When 14.4 came, out felt like I was in high cotton until 28.8 came out. After that, last modem of course was 56k.

Since I once ran a BBS, knew how to push the commands to the modem to turn off the dialing sound, connecting, etc.

We had a party line for awhile when growing up.
