What is your definition of a Cult
Inability to accept that you could be wrong.
Inability to question yourself.
Inability to be able to see ANYTHING other than the exact script.
Which is why I point out many (if not most) support for PTI online is now cult level.
Why?
You can still support someone AND find them at fault -
But you can also support an idea AND tell your leader they are idiots - case in point - Blackberry... they stuck to their idea and we all know where that went.
Apply the same test to what has happened with Afghanistan and do not let the establishment have ANY quarter - they are primary authors of this mess.
But, according to Imran Khan - if the Taliban come to power - it will all be settled.
Until 2020 - there was an ACTUAL decline in terrorism - by 2021- forget the anti Imran movement which Bajra and co did not initiate until autumn. While the Taliban were "taking over" and PTI was selling brand Imran on trips with him driving around or giving UN speeches. He was there in power - supported - when the TTA sat in Doha and he was fully supportive of it.
That year in 2020 - during the PANDEMIC - 150 TTP attacks happened - no one was removing Imran Khan then. But him, Faiz and Shiekhoo were busy with "good taliban" and "bad taliban".
THE DAY HE MADE THAT STATEMENT "Free from the shackles of slavery" - the day TTA broke out ALL TTP prisoners who then took oath with TTA and Pakistani blood spilling started skyrocketing.
Imran is NOT the only one to blame - this was Faiz and Co wing of the establishment and the culmination of Hamid Gul's ideals coming home to roost.
BUT, just as the establishment and their cultists refuse to ever accept their misreads or mistakes - be it Op Gibraltar or Kargil - so do the PTI cultists.
The definition of a cultist is that they think everyone except them is wrong - and any support for them has to be absolute.
They will offer excuses
"He had no power"
"the establishment sabotaged it"
"Things changed"
The man had enough power to appoint an unqualified idiot as chief minister of the largest province because his lady mellisandre favored him but he was a eunuch when it came to foreign policy?
So then should we then conclude that the man was in essence a weak leader because he could not bring in the actual change and was beholden to "the Boss!"?
When your religion - its core text ASKS you to examine - to reflect upon the teachings- interrogate it, ask why, ask when, ask how - and you don't apply it there, then what can be expected of politics or your social interactions and culture?
This has and will be my entire argument.
I dont expect many to follow or understand or even budge - if anything education makes cultism worse because now you find ways to bend information to meet your belief. It is motivated reasoning at work - they will do whatever they can to find conspiracy, semantics or plain whataboutism to dismiss the point.
It gets worse online- why?
Because an account that has spent years upon years proving that the cipher was real - Imran Khan was a prophet in terms of his insight - cannot suddenly question something and lose that praise, those likes - that demotion in front of their X followers, whatsapp group or family.
They will happily remake a theory, rehash it - fix it up - then EVER admit that their party, their line was wrong - it is not in their character.
That is the definition of a cult.
This Ai stuff is cool. I just ask Ai to do me.
Yes it is - at least it can be objective unlike humans who dismiss anything that doesn't meet their beliefs.
