PAF - air-launched munitions | News, updates, and discussions

If the 300 ER is "already" integrated and certified for use on the F16, then there is value in its procurement for PAF sure. An F16 flying off the coast of Mumbai, armed with this missile adds a lot of military value interms of capability options. The value add is not the missile itself as Pakistan can build its own variant if it needed to. The value add is the integration with the F16 that gives potentially more serious offensive capabilities to PAFs F16 fleet that it does not have already.

You can't reach Mumbai or it's coast in an F-16, J-10C or JF-17! You'll have to cross 3 rings of S-400 to get there as well as local LR-SAMS. Similarly, they can't just fly to Karachi. Lahore is a different story because it shares a border, so they can penetrate before getting shot down at somepoint.

Like May, all future wars have become "stand off" now. We need to focus on mass production of long range stand off loitering and other munitions, missiles and robotic war equipment for a next conflict.

Possible with air to air, or buddy air to air refueling .... there will be paths, even with the IN present, to get there and back again. The range is the same amount that the IDF IAF covered recently against Iran.

F-16's are not B1 bombers. They are very expensive fighters for the PAF. Nor do we ever send our pilots on suicide missions just to drop a few LGB's on a port to try to sink 1 or 2 ships that make no difference on IN. But, we risk 10 times more money by putting a few F-16's in an easy to lose situation, loss of pilots that's irreplaceable, etc.

Majority of the cruise missiles or other missiles can be build or bought for around $1-2 million a piece. So let's say a Block 52 F-16 cost us $60 million a piece, we could save the F-16 from risk of losing and for one F-16's cost, we could send 30-50 mix of missiles and other stand off munitions with a mix of locally produced + foreign bought systems. Such a big fire power would delivery a much harder punch. But this scenario has to have some real objectives that need to be achieved.

IDF is not a good comparison IMHO......they had 80% of their job done in terms of destroying/disabling any AD threat from Syria/Iraq. The path they took was mostly safe from any adversarial threats, plus you never know which GCC nation they relied on to fly through their airspace with the help of Americans and aerial tankers loitering freely in uncontested airspace.

Pakistan needs hypersonic missiles that can saturate and attack Indian all the way to Delhi/Mumbai to make a point. So if that need be ballistic missiles (Just like iranians used them to dodge the AD of Israel) so be it. Time to scale up rapid production of BMs and CMs in hypersonic velocity range.

Jets aren't gonna cut it. IAF will never fly again and challenge PAF in aerial war. They will now only resort to surface and air launched CMs.

Hypersonic CM are way way above our league..we can only resort to hypersonic ballistic missiles like used by iran....

CM-98 stealth cruise missile
HD-1/HD-1A ramjet cruise missile

The problem is all capped at 300km.

They might resort to a saturation attack on all our air bases initially with Cruise missiles and BMs.

Both sides will build many Shahed-type drones, easily 2000km range, turbojet version can go 400km/h.

A quite detailed video regarding the PAF A2G arsenal tho the video is 3 years old and doesn't include some systems:
