Nope, the AESA Is no where near ready. Same people who promised 4 Sqds ofd MK1A in service now are claiming a world class, Indian made AESA radar will be ready in less then 2 years from now. Dude, are you for real?

Btw @Deino @Michael - On the subject of contracts and delivery - always good to read between the lines.

A recent interview by a PAF veteran mentioned the J-35 is coming but added a note on "Credit problems" - but cited public knowledge as his source.

On that I am extending that getting credit is one of the primary issues - it's not exactly a cheap purchase(not knowing the exact unit cost) but that also could tie into why PAF has also not signed on for additional J-10CEs because simply Chinese Banks are a little jittery considering all the other loans(even if on time payments exist).

So while all other technical, training and so on considerations are speculation - lack of finances/credit is the strongest factor backed by actual known facts on the economic conditions.

There was also talk of PL-17 and so on - here I am thinking he relied too much on public sources.

Why would Pakistan join MDA if credit can't be arranged , what good is PAF for middle east without J 35 ?

Realistic Upgrade Timeline​

Even ignoring imponderable delays inherent in technology development, in 2028, when integration of Virupaksha with the Su-30MKI commences, Virupaksha would be at roughly the same development stage as Uttam was in 2019.

Under the circumstances, a realistic goal for the start of serial upgrades of the Su-30MKI would be 2035.

Aircraft arent the immediate focus - AD and loitering systems along with BMs are to get the upper hand or "parity" at a minimum.

Even with additional Rafale's India will still struggle getting a longer stick so it too is focusing on networked ops - with much less enthusiasm for new jets.

Exactly, we don't have deep pockets like Arabs that we can go on a buying spree. Members here want more J10's along with J-35, HQ-19, hypersonic missiles, drones, nuclear subs and what not all at once.

Yeah, something feels a bit off. After a spectacular performance last year we have not received any more J-10s (that we know about) or not converted any new Sqds to JF-17s and in fact we have placed Azeri order ahead of PAF and we have even sent JF-17s to Saudia on a permanent rotation basis.

Something feels really odd about all of this. Either last year was such a great walloping and maybe Indians were hit harder then we realise so PAF is relaxing or there is something a foot.

It has been 2 years and no new fighter inductions, PAF have never gone that long without fighters, even in 90s we had a constant stream of F-7s and used Mirages, in 00s we had F-16s and JF-17s I/II and in last 5 years JF-17 III and J-10

Now nothing. Interesting times.....

My gut feelings is the PAF is after the CCA materialization, so they're after the building blocks...

IMO if I were PAF, and I got new J10Cs - I would not show and tell right now. there is no deterrence value.

Why are you feeling so irritated and defensive man ? The reason saying maybe 10 crossed was to show that out of the 72 majority were not used to attack Pakistan and we're instead patrolling the Indian skies.

Is this too much for you to comprehend . ? My objective in that post was not to stat the actual facts (which i didn't knew how many crossed) but to show that this time the attack can be much bad than the previous one, because this time they may decide to send many of those fighters towards us.

You are being the glass half full guy here while I was being the devil acting a glass half empty guy. As they say in project management, plan for the worst and hope for the best. Another saying goes failing to plan is planning to fail. So I will expect to grow my punch starting end of 2028. You can wait till 2034 if you want.

Does this mean I am right and you are wrong or you are wrong and I am right ? No. So I think you can try to live with my opinion. It may feel difficult in start but you will learn it. And trust me it will ultimately feels good.
