PAF J-35AE - News, Updates and Discussions

Considering vulnerable iranian and afghan airspace where entity can fly freely to long ranges we must prepare accordingly….. we need to secure iranian airspace incase of hostilities against iran itself for their and our own security
J35 is enough.

So you are saying Pakistan is decade away getting J 35 but what about additional J 10C and other new jets during this time frame.

No one is questioning that Pakistan will get J-35. most are just questioning getting J-35 by 2025/2026. it defies common sense. These people think 2028/2030 is the right time.

Some PDF members from China include the idea that Pakistan should not get 5G fighters before India because Pakistan is really not as powerful as India, and the weaker party should not actively exacerbate the arms race. And acquiring it later would allow for targeted modifications to India's 5G fighters. This is in good faith and normal logical judgment.

Azm is shelved, can't keep up with KAAN and PFX is a dream as confirmed by Bilal Sahib and others here.

No Block-1 or Block-2 is going to be upgraded to Block-3. They'll go through MLU and retire.
The JF-17 is an aircraft that uses conventional aluminum alloys, not composites. It will not have a long airframe life. Without mid-cycle upgrades, the early JF-17s should be retired one by one within 10 years. If PAF still wants to maintain the current number of squadrons, then the JF-17 capacity will be tight, after all there are export orders to be processed. I now understand why PAF needs to buy more J-10Cs.

Well, thanks for your confidence in my opinion, but in fact I cannot!

All i can is give you a summary of events and try to individually explain what is indeed confirmed, what's a rumour and what's not!

First, there was indeed an official announcement via social media on X, that however was soon deleted:

As such this post raises some important issues:

1. always "an offer" was mentioned only! Never it was claimed - at least in that official post - that a deal was signed, that pilots are training already or when they will be delivered! Nothing more and all claims posted here are unconfirmed rumours!

2. was it indeed a "confirmation" of a fact but why then was it deleted? Was it deleted since it was wrong or since someone officially mentioned something that better should be kept secret?

That's all ... anything else like "we already have them", "they will be delivered by late July", "the PLAAF needs us to make them combat ready" or even - the best BS read here :ROFLMAO: 🤡 - we get a FA-18-like variant since it is preferred" (and in fact the one is too stupid to identify a J-10CE!), "we get them with PL-17" is speculative, a rumour or just fake!

Thank you very much Deino.

Not entirely true. Most of the weapon programs were well announced and were highlighted in media. Let's just see few big ticket ones from last decade. Milgem / Babur corvettes, (the deals and every step of acquisition process & each milestone got media coverage with heads of state), Similarly Type54As were well announced and exact timelines were told. Even the most secretive "silent" service Pakistan navy submarine program Hangors is well known and timelines were also given (however, German engine export ban led to delay in original timelines). Similarly F-16 block52s, we knew when they were approved and govt told timelines for induction.

However in rare instances Govt kept it secretive like for J-10C and HQ9s. Those acquisitions were in response from India's acquisitions of Rafales / S400s, so if announced well in advance with timelines, that could have given Modi's india ample time to plan and maybe expedite any misadventure they were urging for.
As there was a capability gap after india's Rafale acquisition for a brief time. India could have exploited it.
None of these were ever disclosed proactively. The world found out about F-16 Blk 52s through DSCA release.

In general Pakistan, as a policy, does not openly disclose weapons acquisition plans. When transfers are inevitable, things come out through secondary sources (or when secondary sources have already published something then the GoP will give a nod to it.)

You can go on the MOD website and will never see formal notifications on weapons acquisitions.

Hi,

I won't---.

If the item was not posted---i would not have said anything publicly---.

As for the ejection seat angle---it is more like the FA18 ejection seat---which is a prefered design nowadays.

Maybe its a trick, to post something so Pakistan and its people will share the news, like baiting. Anyways it's not big news, Pakistan China military collaboration is on Nato level.

Will you believe in Hazret-i Azrail (AS) only at the time of Ajl like the majority of the humanity?

For a reason, account receivable clerks are paid $30/hr, whereas investment bankers earn 30m$ of bonus a year.....

No comeback to this comment.

We all know that Pakistan will definitely get the J-35A, but the early production aircraft have some undetectable defects that need to be discovered and improved during use. The Pakistani Air Force is a military that pursues quality. Will they choose to buy the J-35 so early? I think it will take at least until the three aircraft carriers of the Chinese Air Force and Navy have a certain number of J-35s before Pakistan will buy it.

Absolutely not. Pakistan is very strict on quality and that too on a level that meets our need to counter our enemies. Pakistan China military collaboration is so strong that China will meet this expectation and even accede.

None of these were ever disclosed proactively

Incorrect. I sent actual examples. You can check out, these were published, announced properly. Atleast for navy projects like Babur class corvettes, Type 54As, Hangor class submarines. We had exact timeline known. Even each milestone was announced (means we were aware of the actual progress). Like for every ship, we knew when the ship's steel cutting was done, when kneel laying was done, when it was launched in water and so on. There was absolutely no secrecy or non-disclosure.

When heads of state / PM, previously Arif Alvi then shahbaz sharif used to attend every milestone with full media coverage. If that's not proactive disclosure then what it is? Similarly, in China CNS usually goes for every milestone and that also get media highlight. If purpose is non-disclosure then even a small ceremony with less media coverage is enough and the your foes will know about it. There is nothing such thing as "Proactive disclosure". Either you disclose OR you keep it secret. There's nothing in between.

However, In some cases Pakistan kept it secretive as I explained in my original post. The crux is that is not state's policy applicable on every defense / weapon program. Its case to case basis, depends upon regional circumstances.
