Not every tweet is fact, but not every tweet is trash either. In 2025, saying “you can’t start a thread from a tweet” is outdated. Twitter (X) is a primary source used by presidents, ministries, defence accounts, media, journalists, and even courts. If Trump tweets something explosive, every major outlet covers it.

You can’t cherry pick when it counts and dismiss it when it doesn’t.

Tweets can’t be banned as sources in the digital age. Ignoring that is choosing to stay blind in a world of real time information. I think the mods here are just too old to understand that.

Yeah, fair point, issue is this may open the floodgates for every Indian on here to post whatever military fantasy stories they now come up with. Not an easy job moderating between those two things granted, but do we want to wake up to a PDF where we basically become a platform to extend the reach of clowns like Shiv Aroor or Vishnu Som?

We can use say certain media outlets as the source but how ridiculous it is when you copy paste a whole article which appeared in yesterday's newspaper.
No one seems to object when people post on say Pakistani military casualties using little known Twitter handles .
