should hand it over to private industry. otherwise, nothing will come out of it.

Oh yeah? Please do tell which private company in this country is able to develop and produce this?
which govt entity is able to develop and produce this? huge bureaucratic nescom or the infant nastp? costing billions and decades for something that can be done in millions in a few years?

The ones developing it? Name a private Company that can make it in "millions and in a few years"

millions in a few years?

That's not possible in Pakistan or anywhere in the world. Only if you are in China operating over a dozen pulsating assembly lines with a massive raw materials industry. A few hundred a year is more like it

Pretty sure he talking about cost, which is still Nonsensical.

I don’t think that the Afghans would have been able to hide their air defenses if they had any that could target our planes or AWACS. We have had many bombing runs over the years inside Afghanistan and they never have tried to target our aerial assets. Also, ISI has infested Afghanistan deeply. They would’ve scoped them out years ahead if such a possibility existed.
Not targeting, just surveillance.

Logic is nice. Afghanistan is pro-India. Those days of using Afghanistan as "strategic depth" are gone.

We are working hard on Iran and that's our best depth. In recent war, they've also witnessed who their real friends are, both Russians and Indians betrayed them badly.

Pakistani AWACS flying right on Iran's border line with approval to land in Iranian nearby airports under "emergency" are good enough for us. The Erieye and KJ-500 both will still cover 200+ KM deep inside Indian territory and the warzone is usually within a 100KM. So well covered.
In the next clash, Pakistan must do as follows:
1- look for any airial attacks, and engage only when Indian planes are very near to Pakistani boarder.
2- as attacks starts from India, look for any radiation from Afghanistan, immediately before our jets go into air.
3- jam Indian satellites in Leo orbit, if possible

The private industry which cannot even make simple motorbike engines currently you mean?

It's not that they can't its that they don't want to, they are content with importing dirt cheap Chinese engines, government needs to force them by imposing heavy taxes on these imported engine's.

I agree. But a lot of people here repeat typical phrases from discourse they read in other countries with zero critical thinking skills to be able to apply if its valid to Pakistan's unique context.

We have no Lockheed Martins at the moment. For what it's worth most serious capacity lies within the state, maybe it will change in the next 10 - 20 years, but there's zero capacity today.

Maybe if the state itself can organise itself better, be more efficient and motivated it can create the right incentives and aid promising private industry players to get involved.

Of course the phrase just give it to private sector doesn't work in our context, Imo it's the fault of the government, especially in the auto sector, Government hasn't forced auto manufacturers to move beyond assembly and hasn't enforced proper safety regulations, so they are more then happy to sell substandard cars which have less features, are more expensive then they are globally, while also being made up of 80% imported parts.

Like I always say, the entire fuckin country is dysfunctional & rotten, no organ really works, it only exists on paper in pretend. It seems most people have given up.

I wouldn't be surprised if those auto manufacturers maybe give a cut to some important dude so these low effort favourable policies aren't touched. Again it's a rotten system to serve the few that's chronically failing.

They 100% do, it's actually pretty well known, like all things in this country it's a cartel, the big 3, they not only lobby against regulations but also communicate with each other on prices, like say if Toyota is jacking up car prices then they will communicate with Honda to do the Same.
