Depends on what are we considering as a target and then overall curvature of the earth, you are using altitude, low radar cross‑section, and GPS‑enabled routes to slip through gaps in coverage, avoid high‑altitude SAM batteries, and attack fixed targets like airfields, logistics hubs, or command nodes.@Oscar
I was wondering how would the Babur/Fatah 4 would mask itself in the terrain when the indias western side is literally plain , like woudnt it increase the rates of interception?
We saw the effectiveness of american and israeli CMs after how they used the iranian mountains to hide themselves .
The advantage subsonic CMs have is their maneuverability - they can go like a mouse between gaps especially against ground based sensors and then use different angles to attack which may not be covered by a SHORAD looking at a particular angle.
Now that may be negated by a AEW flying but then you try to ensure that at a AEW does not fly anywhere close to it or that any air based response is negated.
The most effective approaches always treat weapons like part of a system instead of "lets fire this and see".
