Pakistan Missiles - Updates, News & Discussion

Only thing missing in Fatah family is conventional version of Shaheen-1A dubbed Fatah-V unofficially. My assumption is recent undeclared tests were of Fatah-V and it is taking time to operationalize Fatah-V. Most probably they'd have done modifications to Shaheen-1A to make it more lethal in it's conventional role

Do we employ MARV?

Potentially that has existed as primary role for Ghaznavi - the issue is with interception and flattening trajectories, then giving terminal optics to get further accuracy.

Pakistan has simply never invested in that scale other than general "crude" ideas for nuclear systems relying more on simple blast radius as compensation for accuracy.

For that, you need a double engine fighter jet.
Agreed, but if we look at IAF they have developed ALBM's which they also fire from F-16. What options do we have besides JF-17, which can carry CM-400AKG designated as a quasi-ballistic missile. We can't integrate such weapons on F-16 without US approval. That leaves us only with J-10's.

FATAH IV ER is a great addition to our arsenal, but what I really don't understand is why we fail to increase the range significantly. Why did it take 21 years for our cruise missile to reach a range of 1000 km?

is there any work going on defence systems to locally produce it in num?

Bhai, motorbike ka engine banta naheen, pure copper wires tak aap import kartae and still we fantasise of every other thing or possibility.

whatever we have or manufacture is bcoz of equipment we have procured over time with little to no base industries in the country. That leads to the finished products being extremely expensive compared to the hypothetical scenario where there was a private company making dual use products, raw material was available in the country and there was a marketing potential for products.
when you dont have such things then the money needs to be spent wisely.

Deterrance does not necessarily requires you to hit eastern indian states and nicobar island. You can achieve alotttt with 800kms range while urself staying 100kms inside the indian border.

Greater the range, more it is likely to be intercepted under dense air defense systems. P.S. what is your fascination with longer d**ks all the time ? 1000 KM covers nearly all the potential targets to hit inside India. Complete mastery of different missile systems is first needed than greater range. When I say 'complete mastery' than it includes deadly accuracy, speed (sub/super/hyper), payload, integration from all most of our land/sea/air launchers.

great post!

the greater the range, the more effective will be the USA leverage on us!

(in other words, the shorter the range (and as a result more numerous!), CIA will lose ability to make decisions on our behalf!)
