Pakistan Missiles - Updates, News & Discussion

Your description is incomplete.

In addition to the two options you listed, there is a third configuration: the waverider warhead.

The DF-17 series of hypersonic missiles includes not only the common waverider warhead variant but also a biconic warhead variant.

The propulsion stages for both are identical—there is no difference between them; the only distinction lies in the warheads.

Compared to the biconic variant, the waverider variant offers greater range and superior maneuvering capabilities for evading defenses; however, its drawback is a smaller payload capacity, resulting in reduced explosive power.
As of today Pakistan has "officially no such warhead" as mentioned in your post, therefore considering these technologies for the incremental range is pre mature in context of Pakistan.

Maybe...

The Pakistani military could acquire a stake in "Lingkong Tianxing Technology Co., Ltd." through some of its own commercial entities. A full acquisition is highly unlikely, but taking an equity stake should be a feasible option. After all, this is a private Chinese enterprise, not a state-owned one. Of course, even just acquiring a stake presents certain challenges. But for Pakistan, it is worth it.
