From a purely tactical standpoint, the value of the CJ-100/DF-100 as it currently exists lies primarily in controlling the range of collateral damage from strike operations. That's good info.
The tactical need is to hit military targets at a rapid pace, with little chance of intercept, and something which can be produced at numbers.
For example: we need to strike some enemy target 3000KM away. If the CJ-100/DF-100 is used for the strike mission, it will cause very little collateral damage to the surrounding environment. However, if we use the DF-26 to perform this mission, it will cause a lot of collateral damage to the surrounding environment.
