Pakistan Solar Power: News & Updates

@hydrabadi_arab

Hydra bro,

Interestingly EVs could become auxiliary batteries. If they are stationary during the evening or morning peaks, they can make money by discharging power into the grid during those times.

sodium batteries with 15k> cycles will be another game changer. Imagine buying a battery that will last as much as your solar panel and it will be cheaper then lithium.

Lithium will continue to play role in EV while BESS shift to sodium.

Hmm - i would not recommend that at all. EV batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and are design around the lifespan of the vehicle, and the demands of cars are such that the EV batteries are quite expensive to match those technical requirements. The cost of replacing a car EV battery because you have used up its lifespan will far exceed any value from being paid to contribute to the grid.

Storage batteries will be cheaper, more design for the specific use case and would make more sense.

@Ali_Baba

That is a fair point you are making-but I was referring to a future point in time when EV batteries would become cheaper and more robust. Sorry my fault, should have been more explicit.

Regards
