Hyperspectral imaging is used in military applications for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) due to its ability to identify materials and features that are invisible to the naked eye. Its applications include detecting camouflage, identifying chemical agents, classifying targets like military versus civilian vehicles, and mapping terrain for activities such as locating buried objects.

You can even map the type of crops. Crop stress levels and so forth. And that’s just agricultural application.

There is no evience Pakistan has launched a SAR satellite. PRSC-EO1 is a largely indigenous Electro-Opitical satellite (obviously critical components are procured elswhere as Pakistan has no manfucaturing capacity in these areas) probably comparable to Turkiye's Göktürk-2, i.e. less resolution than the Thales- Alenia procured Göktürk-1. It is a follow on and replacement for PakTes-1A.

The KS-1, launched in July is likely a replacement for PRSS-1 which is at the end of it's design life and is an off the shelf chinese product with probably a sub-meter resolution with a pan mutlispectral camera.

The new satellite HS-1 is another type of Electro-Optical satellite with a Hyperspectral camera.

There is scant evidence to support Pakistan having procured a SAR satellite. Though, I imagine that is the next priority.

Yes, there is no clear declaration of SAR launch, what we do find is a distinction that SUPARCO is making between EO-1 launched in the beginning of the year and “remote sensing” satellite which was launched mid of this year.

You find the same distinction being made this interview at 8:40:

@Quwa called this satellite (being just called remote sensing which applies to EO type satellites too) as SAR in their article. Don’t know their source though.

P.S.: I am not quwa. We just have the same name.

@Quwa If any satellite was a SAR satellite the prime candidate would be HS-1 as it was co-launched with two chinese SAR Satellites - rather than the KS-1 launch in July. However I remain skeptical that Pakistan has procured any type of SAR satellite given that no annoucement was made about SAR and all offical references have been to Electro-Optical satellites either Multispectral Pan or Hyperspectral. Also remember you do need a constellation of satellites (around 3) in LEO and Polar orbits for full coverage especially in war time - See Israel's Ofek and Eros satellites. Not all satellites may be designated for military use and the lower resolution ones may be designated purely for civilian applications. Turkiye is about a 15 years ahead of Pakistan in satellite development and it has not launched or procured a SAR satellite. Gokturk-3 is a SAR sat and will not launch until 2030.

China has announced it will arrange for a Pakistan astronaut to perform short-term missions as part of China’s space station missions, state news agency Xinhua said on Thursday.

The astronaut from Pakistan will be arranged to perform short-term mission as a payload expert, Xinhua reported China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) as announcing at a press conference.

It further reported that the arrangement for the astronaut was according to medium-term planning and cooperation progress of China’s space station mission. It added that the astronaut from Pakistan will train alongside Chinese astronauts.

China’s Global Times also reported that during the mission, the astronaut will not only participate in the crew’s routine work but will also conduct experiments on behalf of Pakistan.
