Okay. Here it is:
What is happening to IK is exactly as Allah has willed it for him, as He does for all of us.

Pakistan is essentially a military dictatorship since at least the first martial law of 1958. The rigged elections, the unjustified court verdicts, the fake media trials etc are just an extension of the said & ruthless authoritarian rule!We don't even know what is Pakistan anymore. Is it hybrid regime, theocracy, parliamentary Republic with free and fair elections, people rule or military rule.
IK will be remembered as that guy who opened the public’s eyes regarding the undeclared (and sometimes declared) state of permanent martial law in Pakistan. He did in remaining Pakistan what Sheikh Mujeeb did in East Pakistan.I am not sure how IK will be remembered in future.
I meant that for Pakistanis, even the rule of law means nothing. They don't mind living in a patriarchy. Whether civilians are killed by judge's son or a woman is killed in the name of honour stir nothing in civil society
My issue is that the consequences are not constitutional and legal.
as @VCheng says this is Zia Pakistan.
All good but Imran had only turned his guns toward 'the Establishment' when Bajwa decided to not back him up anymore. Before that, the high-hand PM Imran and his rise and misuse of the same Establishment are all well know. General Faiz, the Parrot, will soon start talking with juicy details.I don't think anything else matters except the fight over army appointments, Internal security, International relations and anti army statements. Thats the main reason for all this fight,
A guy who stupidly could not even honor a Const. binding No Confidence Motion is the guy to look up to for 'rule of law'? You yourself some days ago had said that Imran's throwing out the NCM was 'unlawful'. It was not a simple mistake: He, his President, and his Speaker had all violated the Const. of Pakistan then and if the state of Pakistan was not so lenient and dumb, his Fitna was not allowed to take shape for a year as he would have been justifiably tried for the violation of the Const. of Pakistan.Do we want parliamentary system, free and fair elections, rule of law, independent institutions or do we want hybrid regime or theocracy. Pakistan current rulers must declare this, change constitution or even scrap it but let the people know, this game of deception is hurting the nation
No man. I was not asking you to look for an adverb. I meant Allah owns everything, but still He has given us free time and space. In this life, we can do both good and bad to ourselves and to others.Okay. Here it is:
What is happening to IK is exactly as Allah has willed it for him, as He does for all of us.
If people really are "content" with the way things are going in the country, why don’t they simply choose to stay? Why are they actually leaving the country in droves? As I say, the nation has shown with its actions that is is quite content with the way things are going in the country.
Nearly 2.9 million Pakistanis emigrate in three years
No. 08 Feb elections have shown that they are not content with it. Then there is always a limit for everyone. Even Gibrael cannot cross a certain height. As I say, the nation has shown with its actions that is is quite content with the way things are going in the country.
Ok. But at least that must be standerised. We don't have a reference what is right or wrong. Unless you think towing Asim narrative is the goal post, then even corruption is legit.Well, they are consequences nonetheless, regardless of what you might think about their legality
Or we can simply look straight up to military establishment of the past, present & future and the "higher" standards they have set in rule of law!A guy who stupidly could not even honor a Const. binding No Confidence Motion is the guy to look up to for 'rule of law'?
Imran is such an iconoclast against 'dynastic politics'. My guess is when Imran is dead, his sons won't be stupid enough to stop humping chicks and sipping champagne to leave Jemima's rich household in England to come to Pakistan and do 'politics' in Imran's name and his sisters too old. So we may see a rump PTI 'loyalists' carrying Imran's portraits to do 'politics'.
Like 'Bhutto' is alive. Imran too will be 'alive'--through his portraits!
