Every country has to worry about funds, even the USAF cuts back.

Plans are plans, right now with Cheetah helicopters, MIG-21s and AN-32s all well over 40 years old it shows IAF has a lack of budget. It is afterall a very big air force.

“Flight refuelling aircraft are vital combat enablers. The IAF has just six, and two previous attempts at procurement faltered due to lack of funds, despite an aircraft being shortlisted both times. We have lost more than 10 years. Hopefully, wiser counsel will prevail this time,” said Air Vice Marshal Manmohan Bahadur (retd), additional director general, Centre for Air Power Studies.

There have been many occasions when a system was put into service after it had already lived its life due to the vicious cycle of research and development and lack of funds.

India’s armed forces must find ways to preserve their operational edge using assets and equipment that may not be fit for purpose or the best in class. Given inadequate funding, the military must find ways to make do with available resources. In that sense, the defence budget accentuates the military’s predicament.

Let me know when you want another lesson on economics....

As you say
India is having financial troubles with 80 billion USD budget

How does Pakistan manage things with barely 11 billion USD budget .

No wonder your army has its finger in everything
From making Fauji Fertilizers to DHA plots
They need the money
Otherwise as Bajwa once said
Humare tanks mein tel nahi hai

well those pilots died due to bad spare parts and thats something you shoulnt be proud when you are loosing your own pilots in JF17 and Mirage III crashes

MIG21s are replaced by LCA MK1A while Mirage 2000s and later Mig29s will be replaced by LCA MK2 and we are in no hurry as both of those platforms are left with at least 1500 to 1000 flying hours of life meaning yet another 10 years easily

besides we have both expertise , money and worlds best technology that we to choose buy and no one is going to oppose rather they are linning for owr orders

Rumors mills are abuzz

Price being quoted by the French for Rafale M deal is below what many were expecting
4 billion Euros for 26 Rafale M F4s vs 7.8 billion Euros for 36 Rafale F3Rs

Recently a member of Dassault's negotiations team let it slip that they were also discussing a small batch order for IAF as well

Modi could soon announce a Rafale Deal 3.0

However the Qty is going to be small

24 Rafale F4s and 120 Meteor bvrs for 3.2 billion Euros with deliveries starting in 2027
One of Dassault's customers is backing away due to financial issues hence delivery slots for Rafale F4s are available

Everything is pretty much the same which was expected except which customer is backing off? 2027 seems tough timeline.

The Indian transport fleet is huge probably the biggest on the world outside of USA china and Russia
The mainstay is c17 Globemasters 11 of them there are il76 around 16/18 avd now delivery of brand new c295 have started 56 in total there are also new c130 in service

Talking about An32 constantly which is being phased out is intentional on your part to try and deflect the massive transport fleet that India currently already operates and has inducted recently billions had been spent..More to come

Just like you go mig21 we what 20 in service
I see you forget to talk about 500 Mki rafale Tejas mirage 2000 Mig29k.

Love your depiction on mig21 An32 trying to suggest what exactly 😂😂😂 i

thats old news bhai

already Dassault is in talks with private players to make a new assembally line for Rafales in India deu to rissing demand

IAF is all set for new batch of F4 order of 114 units which they are not ready to compromise

navy for now is OK with the set given number but if the sister ship of the proposed 3rd aircraft carrier is also sanctioned then numbers of rafale will also go higher

while deal is finally sanctioned for clearnece by IAF and send to CCS for approoval for Hercules C130J manufacture in india in collobration with TATA systems which already are making major airframe assemballies of the same

I think that user is half Pakistani, he hates India more than some Pakistani members 😂. No sane guy would trust ISPR source without double checking somewhere else.
His biggest grouse is that we Indians don't respect China, or treat it with the deference he expects us to, which gets his German goose, since he specializes in Chinese defence matters based on OSINT purely. Of course, no real, hard data is ever known, none of the problems, challenges or delays ever come out, since their media is completely controlled, so he thinks that Chinese are just immune to all challenges. Ignorance truly is bliss for him.

And of course we Indians have our own share of bimbos who make exaggerated claims..but instead of laughing them off, he chooses to take highlight only them and then mocks all Indians. As if India has gotten to where it has on the basis of just air.

But mind you, he won't do that with all the wild all delusions of grandeur that Pakistanis have on this forum. Reading the various threads and posts pretending that Pakistan was soo competent a nation and nationality, you wouldn't be able to figure out why Pakistan is such a mess that it is.

He's now basically gone from being a somewhat moderate mid of the range, slightly biased moderator to a full on troll who loves nothing more than to rant and rave about Indians in a negative light.
