Russia-Ukraine War - News, Discussions & Updates

Ukraine is simply one of the greatest demographic disasters in recent history. Perhaps one of the greatest in human history in terms of demographic pyramid and gender disparities.

52,562 deaths identified since February 2022. Average age 37.9. Most deaths occur between 20 and 50 years old. The likely death toll is probably well over 100,000.

The country is entering a demographic collapse. The country's birth rate has collapsed. The separation of couples, with millions of women and children leaving the country, has been aggravated by male mortality.

Just to remind you that the last census carried out before the war in 2022 was in 2001, when the government published a population of 41 million. Over the years this number has been disputed and the government has repeatedly postponed the publication of new censuses until the war, because they know that such publication is politically explosive.

As I said, Ukraine will die in the long run.

I have noted these many times before .

Ukraine will never win any attrition war with Russia. Russia's pre war population is 142 million, Ukraine meanwhile had 42 million (minus the Crimea its 37 million). Now with massive population movements towards the West, or the fact that many Urban settlements have come into Russian hands meant that Ukraine is at best a nation of 30 million or so people. While Russia's population actually increases by absorbing Ukrainian territory.

There's simply no way Ukraine will get out of this debacle with any kind of success.

Funnily Russia gains population while Ukraine losses more as the war continues.

Now that the casualty rate is revealed to be almost equal between Ru and Ukr. I hope @F-22Raptor will be man enough to admit defeat once the actual Ukrainian capitulation comes into fruition.

Not to mention that a nation's maximum mobilization capacity for the army is at most 20-30%, and that's to still try to maintain a functional State.

Basically you put all that remaining 25 million or so.

Divide it between the males and females.

Divide it between the young (which the Ukrainian leadership won't commit) and the old.

Divide it between the ones in the military, the ones that keep the country's economy running (teachers, miners, shopkeepers) and the ones hiding in flats

Divide it between the army's staffing behind the frontline, logistics, and the actual men who carried arms

Divide it between frontline and rear units in rest/training

Divide it between the ones still fighting at the frontline and the ones still at the frontline but incapacitated due to injuries.

And you realize the DEEP SHIT Ukraine is into and why they are nervous about actually losing the war after spending YEARS trying to portray themselves as winning.

Only 5% of the male population is fit for combat mentally and physically.

Ukraine in its absolute emergency mode could raise another 1-2 million strong army. But the problem is, they won't have nearly enough weapons to equip them or nearly enough money to pay for their salaries.

And it's still likely only able to prolong the war for another 2-3 years before again the classic complaints about manpower started to bite.
