EDITORIAL: The Sindh government’s decision to launch what its home minister described as a “massive operation” to eliminate bandits in the katcha areas along the Indus marks an important turn in the province’s fight to reclaim the state’s writ from riverine criminal gangs.

The minister vowed to use state force to eliminate the katcha dacoits and their facilitators, and permanently destroy their hideouts. The resolve expressed by him to ruthlessly crush the criminals underscores the provincial leadership’s renewed political will to put an end to heinous crimes such as kidnappings for ransom, highway robberies and murders in the area.

This is not the first time the province has launched a police operation against the riverine criminals who have operated in the area for decades with impunity.

HIGH-PROFILE TERRORIST CAPTURED IN KARACHI; MASTER MIND OF BAJAUR ATTACK ARRESTED

Karachi: In a major breakthrough, law enforcement agencies have arrested a high-value and most-wanted terrorist during a precision intelligence-based operation in Karachi.

The arrested terrorist hails from District Bajaur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and is the principal character in the deadly attack on Assistant Commissioner Bajaur

The terrorist is also responsible for torching government machinery belonging to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minerals Department.

To avoid arrest, the terrorist had been living in deep concealment in Karachi, posing as a peanut vendor.

Despite his low-profile cover, he continued to operate his facilitation and communication network, maintaining links with extremist elements.

Investigations show that the terrorist was directly involved in multiple high-impact terrorist incidents in Bajaur, spreading fear and instability in the region. Several cases under the Anti-Terrorism Act were already registered against him in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The arrest marks a significant blow to terrorist networks, and that further interrogation is underway to trace facilitators, financiers, and possible sleeper cells.

Baloch separatist/terrorist group, Baloch Republican Guards (BRG) has claimed the attack. BRG says it will continue to carry out similar attacks.

Heavy firing, explosion rock Karachi's Gulistan-e-Jauhar​


Residents reported heavy gunfire and a powerful explosion in block 6 of Gulistan-e-Jauhar, sparking panic

Heavy gunfire and a powerful explosion were reported in Karachi's Gulistan-e-Jauhar on Saturday, triggering panic among residents.

According to reports, intense gunfire was heard near Meteorological Chowrangi on University Road. A loud blast was also heard prior to the firing incident.

Rescue 1122 spokesperson said that a report of a blast near Gulistan-e-Johar Block 5 was received by Rescue 1122 on Saturday.

He said the Central Command and Control at Rescue 1122 received the information and immediately dispatched a team to the site of the incident.

He added that Rescue 1122 teams have reached the location and are currently assessing the situation on the ground.

Following the reports, a heavy contingent of police reached the spot.

Will never happen, 7 people were killed in Bannu a few days ago and the khassi of GHQ did not do anything, what makes you think they will do anything over an attack they have censored and are claiming the terrorists couldn't even get inside the HQ, no one even reported anything, it's just our leadership doesn't give a **** about the people of Pakistan we are cannon fodder in their eyes
