I think supply chain security deserves its own dedicated thread for discussions.

IMO, the communication device terror attack against Lebanon is just tip of the iceberg. It’s important to note that not all supply chain attacks involve boobytraps like the ones we witnessed recently. Iran needs to think about food, pharmaceuticals, metallurgy/material, and other domains.

What steps will be taken to ensure integrity of supply chain?

This is not a new thing for Iran. The first reports of sabotage of equipment against Iran were during the Iran-Iraq war. Since then, many sabotages have been discovered in equipment buyed from the west and east.

The way is domestic production and accidental and secret buy that Iran has done in these years.

Doubt Iran has checked every aspect of their supply chain (especially civilian consumer goods). Israeli terror attack on Lebanon demonstrated Israel will target the civilian sector as well. My theory is Iran only analyzes the supply chain for very few critical military products. I hope I’m wrong, but I’m guessing we will witness something similar happening to Iran as well.

Supply chain security is not an easy task. Even USA recently discovered some of the F-35 parts were made in China without their knowledge.

The history about explosive devices origin is simply non-credible and a lot of non-senses for retarded people who buy Western made lies-news.

Likely it was done through bribed officials in Lebanese customs, non-Hezbollah Lebanese state hates Hezbollah.

That's the only explanation why walkie-talkies exploded in Lebanon and not a single one of same brand used widely in Iran exploded.

Israel manufacture twin devices in Israel, send the twin batch to Lebanon at the same time than original batch, and some bribed offcial change one batch by the another.

All those histories about Taiwanese, Hungarian companies are just bullshit for retarded Westerners who believe any stupid massmedia thing.

Walkie-talkies were not from Taiwan.

So the problem is not in the supplier or in the manufacturer.

The problem is in Lebanon customs.

The explanation is those walkie-talkies bought separately by hezbollah.
Iran won't provide everything to hezbollah.
And we are sanctioned . Lebanon is not. We had to hide destination of our purchases a lot better. And twin device story only credible if Isreal was aware of exact shipment detail otherwise they could not intercept them and only producer of the device is aware of those details

Not all contract manufacturers are serious about cyber security. I would bet CIA/Mi6/mossad and other western intelligence have spyware on the manufacture computers and they tip each other off when Iran and allies buys anything from a CM

Anyone remember the fiasco involving sabotaged russian connectors used in the missiles; the same items were made in Iran too but sepah decided to not support domestic production and purchase the items with the toman and instead use limited dollars or euros to buy from russia and they end up compromised at the end of the day...

Yes, we remember clearly. This is what I’m worried about as well. Personally, I think many more areas are sabotaged, but we are not aware of it.

All critical infrastructure component needs to be audited asap

Iran doesnt get sanction for civilian products, only oil related sector and also unilateral sanction from US for components for Iran defense industry.

  1. Cereals: US$4.5 billion (16.6% of total imports)
  2. Machinery including computers: $3.8 billion (14%)
  3. Vehicles: $2.2 billion (8.1%)
  4. Electrical machinery, equipment: $1.9 billion (7.1%)
  5. Oil seeds: $1.8 billion (6.9%)
  6. Animal/vegetable fats, oils, waxes: $1.1 billion (3.9%)
  7. Optical, technical, medical apparatus: $865 million (3.2%)
  8. Pharmaceuticals: $821.2 million (3%)
  9. Plastics, plastic articles: $818.1 million (3%)
  10. Organic chemicals: $677.3 million (2.5%)
By value, Iran’s top 10 imports recorded over two-thirds (68.3%) of the overall value of its product purchases from other countries.

US sanction will be thing of past once new Russian-Chinese financial model is active world wide
