Tempest Stealth Fighter Flying Demonstrator Takes Shape

<sigh!>
Fond memories of the metal-bashing capital of the world.

Further details of the demonstrator have also emerged. Team Tempest says the critical design review was completed in May of this year, although the manufacturing of components had already begun in 2023. Of these parts, 99 percent come from U.K. manufacturers.

This quote shows the depth of UK aerospace manufacturing capabilities that the UK still retains, where it can build a flying prototype in the UK of a 6th gen platform.

I am looking forward to seeing it fly as an aviation nut!

Some other time (I'm going through some deep issues at the moment, and not really in a relaxed mood), remind me to tell you how my BAE Director got me into Munich from Preston.
The Brits are really into aviation, heart and soul.

UK open to Germany joining future fighter project

(hopefully not in the development phase!)

I wonder if India can get it's hands on these jets
They have always brought from both UK and France historically
Hunters
Gnats
Canberra
Jaguars
Sea harrier

This is real possibility especially if the chinease threat keeps growing

India will not get any NEW top line fighters from Europe for the foreseeable future following the Sindhoor disaster.

Manufacturers will not risk such embarrassment. Your fate is sealed....

Honestly I think the UK will sell GCAP to India in a heartbeat if India asked, If I am to be brutally honest.

You only have to look at how few Rafale sales(other than order reduction by Indonesia) have been cancelled to see that most people do not associate the performance of the Rafale in "Indian hands" as being the same performance in their own hands(and rightly so). Even PAF said the Rafale was an excellent plane if deployed properly.

Time will tell
I'll check in with you about this in 10-15 years time.
