TF-X / KAAN / Hürjet Turkish Fighter & Trainer Aircrafts News & Discussions

Spain and Germany should join KAAN project
Turkiye offers MUM-T concept ( manned-unmanned teaming )

Who is enemy for Germany-Spain ? Russia
KAAN , KIZILELMA , ANKA-III easly can match with Russia ( SU-35 - SU-57 for 2030s )

I think there’s a saying among the Germans and the French about themselves: If the “ignorant” Turks can pull this off then surely we can too. The problem with this mindset is that those so-called “ignorant” Turks would treat it like a “ man-on-the-moon” project and fully commit to it. I doubt we’d see that same level of dedication from either the French the Germans.

The Germans could develop a sixth-generation fighter jet if they wanted to. However, since WW II, CIA and US political influence have not allowed Germany and Japan to make fully independent strategic decisions. As the Russian threat in Europe and the Chinese threat in East Asia continue to grow, the United States may eventually have to allow them greater freedom to develop advanced military capabilities and weapons systems.

Let’s first see whether they can mass-produce an engine on the level of the F110 and WS-10, let alone an engine in the class of the WS-15 or F135.

Agreed, but the same is still valid for Kaan and as such the Turkish industry! ;)

Germany easly can not develop a 6th gen Fighter Jet entirely on its own

1 --
Post-WWII, Germany has not designed and produced a fully indigenous Fighter Jet

2 -- Germany has not full standalone end to end capability for a modern high-thrust turbofan Engine for Fighter Jets

3 -- Germany alone can not develop MUM-T concept ( manned-unmanned teaming )

also Germany needs to develop subsystems like AESA Radar , EOTS , IRST , EW Suite , ramjet powered BVR air to air Missile , new Cruise Missile , anti-radiation Missile

Even the FCAS project was planned to be developed between 2040-2050 period with the help of an experienced country like France... If Germany can do it alone even by 2050, it will be a success

------------------------------------------------------------------------

On the other hand , Turkish KAAN project is already in production/test phase

-- All subsystems are almost ready

( MURAD-600 AESA Radar , TOYGUN EOTS , KARAT IRST , FEWS EW Suite , Mission Computer , TULGAR HMDS ) full of Turkish technology

-- Missiles will be ready in the next a few years
GOKHAN and GOKBORA ramjet engined BVR air to air Missiles with AESA seeker
SOM-J stealth Cruise Missile
AKBABA supersonic anti-radiation Missile

--- MUM-T ( manned-unmanned teaming ) concept almost ready
KIZILELMA unmanned stealth Fighter Jet
ANKA-III flying-wing stealth UCAV

--- Turbofan Engines
Engine development activities have been ongoing since 2018 and significant progress has been made.

In the worst-case scenario, all platforms will be produced with domestically produced engines within 7-10 years.

TF-6.000 Turbofan Engine : ANKA-III
TF-10.000 Turbofan Engine : KIZILELMA
TF-35.000 Turbofan Engine : KAAN

KAAN's MUM-T capability will begin around 2030.

Turkiye excels in agility and political will for national programs.

The future is MUM-T concept
and Germany has no technology to develop unmanned stealth Fighter Jet - flying-wing stealth UCAV

Even France-The UK still lacks unmanned stealth Fighter Jet technology

first go and finish developing of EuroDrone ( turboprob engined UCAV )

These Countries Turkiye , USA , China leads MUM-T concept in the World

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Turkish Aerospace CEO Prof. Dr. Mehmet Demiroğlu:

"The UK , Japan , France, Germany are working on the 6th generation. We are also working on it, and we will finish it first.

KAAN will be at the center of the 6th generation. We are conducting our efforts through KAAN."

Aside from the engine, what systems or organizational challenges do you think exist? What are the top three systems expected to challenge our industry? What might the organizational problems be?

Probably ew systems because thats a new field we are in for fighter jets atleast and software(algorithms) for kaan but those are matters of time and are present at every nation when they develop a new fighter jet.

Turkiye is one of top Countries in the World for EW Systems

F-16s equipped with Aselsan SPEWS-II EW Suite
Aselsan FEWS next gen EW Suite is ready for KAAN Fighter Jet

even KIZILELMA flew with FEWS-U Electronic Warfare Suite 4 months ago

Also , Turkiye is unique position in Europe and in the Middle East with ASOJ-23A stand off jammer Aircraft ... ( only USA and Turkiye in NATO )

These systems significantly enhance KAAN's capabilities and Turkiye's overall air power

In fact I'm only focused on the engines since anything else is secondary. If Kaan does not get its desired / required dedicated engines, it will fain ... and again, that does not mean, the German Industry could do it quicker.

I agree.

Aside from the engine, I would have expected problems with the sensors, especially the radar. But they're confident about the radar.

On the other hand, since the engine generates thrust, hydraulic pressure, and electricity, collapse of engine develloping project failure would be enough to sudden collapse the entire project.

Exactly my concern! Otherwise I think Turkey can manage this project, which is truly impressive, but engines are considered the top class or crown jewels of this industry for a good reason.
