TF-X / KAAN / Hürjet Turkish Fighter & Trainer Aircrafts News & Discussions

wow ... @dBSPL has finally turned up here ?!?! :)

I‘m not sure but found this at the Secret Projects Forum:

“ANKA-3 made its first flight this morning today. There are pictures of it on Instagram. I'm waiting for the official press release.“ (by @Nart)

Nice - good to see it fly - seems like a good first flight.

Ka'an is next hopefully !!

Beautiful looking aircraft.
Turkey is a rolemodel for countries which wants to achieve a indiginous weapons program with limited resources.
It also shows that it is not a good idea to embargo (doesn't matter if openly or covert) a country that has reached a certain industrial capacity and has been integrated into the global aviation ecosystem on a certain scale. Sooner or later they find a way out. Not only can they find it, but the systems they develop begin to compete with the systems that were not given to them.

In current interconnected multipolar world, one country wanting to place sanctions on a second country, will ultimately end up santioning itself.

The old 20th century geopolitics no longer is fruitful.

This would have happened with or without the embargoes, There's nothing in the international market that Turkey could buy instead of developing ANKA 3

Mr. Erkan said something along these lines a couple of days ago that I liked.

Any idea who's working on the software side?

What's a realistic timeframe for PAF acquiring the KAAN? Probably after there's an export variant with a turkish engine right?

Doesn't seem likely that Pakistan would integrate a chinese engine right?

Whenever Kaan Block 30 is ready for export. Mid 2030s probably. Engine is on a "wait-and-see" basis. Let's see how the things unfold on the Turkish engine front.

Turkish Aerospce beating European powers like UK France and Germany to create an state of the art stealth UAV.

PAF will acquire 5th Gen when India acquires them be it Kaan or FC31/J35 variant.

Why wait? The Indians have a quantitative advantage, if 5th gen options are available, why not try to get a qualitative BVR edge? I say buy a squadron of j-35(will prob be ready before KAAN with domestic engine) as soon as they are available with WS-19s.
