Blacks in USA till late 60s
Romas and gypsies in Europe till date..

This doesn't help you

Most Pakistanis should accept unflinchingly the conceptual and universal dignity of all people, as a religious principle

Yes islam helps with that

Yes the practice doesn't match theory and principles

Must do better

Any western pak origin I have ever spoken to is heart broken by the plight of the poor and needy

Must do better

I will pass. Carry on my Mexican friend.

No society is truly equal and free from hierarchy privileges and discrimination etc.
But the caste discrimination is mostly dead.
You are combining the discrimination based on power, position and money with caste related ones. Even within the so called " dalit" community there is hierarchy issues.
That is the use of weasel words at its worst.
Power, position and money depend on caste hierarchies, they do not replace caste hierarchies. There may or may not be hierarchies within the Dalit, that in no way justifies the constant grinding repression inflicted on the Dalit as a category by Savarna Hindus.

It is shameful that people should be resorting to such evasive language and words to justify a hideous feature of contemporary society.

The video was seen on the Internet, and the Han nationality was also invaded. It was once regarded as a pariah by the invaders, and in the face of humiliation, we learned to be United, brave and tolerant. We are also aborigines.
Later, we defeated the invaders with huge sacrifices. The Queen of the Ming Dynasty ordered all girls to get married in the future, regardless of rich or poor, to wear royal wedding clothes.

Your post remains, although I strongly deprecate it.

Whenever someone says cast discrimination doesn't exist on India,It is just a plain lie.
It is rife both in north and south India.
It's embedded in the culture itself.
What is hilarious is the fact that these same hypocrites who profess caste discrimination is negligible in India ,cry foul about race/color based discrimination in foreign countries.
Don't you know?

It's discrimination about race and colour UPWARDS, and
discrimination about caste DOWNWARDS.

That's what has been happening in aggregations of Indians in the US. And elsewhere, including in Australia. They can't walk away from it.

they have sanctioned another 3.0crore/ over 30million houses in this program of post#6, as below. but yes things take time :coffee:

Union Budget 2024-25: 30 Million Houses Under PMAY, Rs 10 Lakh Crore Allocated

A total of 42.10 million houses have been completed for eligible poor families under PMAY in the last 10 years. :)

Problem is not construction of Houses, issue is about relocating them.

It exists right in the middle of our biggest Indian cities. This sort of mealy-mouthed hypocrisy, in the face of the oppression that exists, is itself criminal.

due to populist policies of different political parties its difficult to relocating them from the slums in city center to houses built under different Govt schemes due to their fancy requirements like distance from city center, connectivity & availability of facilities.

Excellent point.

These schemes are not meant to benefit the poor, but to publicise politicians. All Indian political parties are equally contemptible in this regard.

Once upon a time I had posted similar YouTube videos regarding china !!
I was thread banned

As far as untouchability in india is concerned I admit that it was a severe problem once upon a time. A shadow of it still lingers over entire south asia irrespective of religion.
However at least the issue is more or less solved in india ( at least constitutionally) by
1. Reservation
2.SC ST act.

PS : untouchability exists in one from or other all across the globe.
Why am i not surprised 😂

Let's not worry about that now since we are on a Pakistani forum and we are enjoying a unique opportunity of interaction with the people on the opposite side of the border
These kind of things will happen and dare I say that no indian forum offers a similar kind of opportunity

Back to the topic -
1 -Here no one will mention that what SC/ST act is
Where just mentioning of the name of a particular caste can be the reason for the issue of a non bailable warrant against the the savarna
as per the supreme court it is one of the most misused after dowry act

2 - reservation
Depressed Communities are getting as much as 50% reservation in all educational institutions and government jobs!
Even in most research posts as well, including the top institutions IIM AND IIT!
AND UPSC exams and state level exams

It's been going of for decades ever since the independence and in some cases even before that

Make no mistake the caste politics is one of the reasons this thing has continued in modern India!
The regional political parties have benefited and remained in power especially in states like UP ,BIHAR ( still going on ) and Karnataka , jharkhand etc etc

This cartoon was in my political science book in class 9th 😂

The usual suspects are crying a river over slum area development and rehabilitation.
Yeah ,I have seen things like this unfurl couple of times !

A so called slum areas in delhi was to be developed in 2016 and the most righteous political party in existence was in charge of the de-slumification of Delhi ! 🤣

So all the slum people were provided with a 2BHK FLAT ! with all the standard amenities that DDA was providing at that time (clean water, proper sanitation, and basically everything you can expect in a government funded society)

And after a few days the newspapers and all digital media went crazy at the condition of the flats 😂 , (all the usual stuff)
Only 2 rooms provided for a family of 6 , people with old family members were not considered for the ground floor flats , there were no lifts in the flats 😂 ( can you belive it!,they want lifts in 2 story high flats!)
Main road not wide enough, no parking spaces for cars ( yes slum dwellers owned cars)

And after the allotment they made a huge mess that even AAP had to cancel its plans for development

THAT SLUM EXISTS EVEN TODAY !!!

I am damn sure the same thing is going to happen in every slum redevelopment, even if
Adani gives each family a decent flat !
The will not part with their ownership of the slum! They will file court cases and go to the human rights division

Adani has taken the charge of the redevelopment but nobody can handle these guys and sadly but surely Adani's project is bound to fail!
