What we know​

A Lockheed C-130E Hercules, a military transport class aircraft, belonging to the Turkish Air Force, has reportedly crashed in Georgia, close to the border of neighboring Azerbaijan.

The transport aircraft, using call-sign TUAF543, departed Ganja International Airport (GNJ/UBBG) at 10:19 UTC.

Well there is actually precedent for a C-130 airframe tearing apart in mid air, also I don't think it was a explosion we don't see any smoke.

Apparently a part of the aircraft broke apart. C-130 is an old airframe.

It spiralled down with smoke from both wings. So, engines might at least be on.

Turkish military plane crash in Georgia kills all 20 on board

On 11 November 2025, a Turkish Air Force Lockheed C-130 Hercules flying from Ganja International Airport in Azerbaijan, to Merzifon Air Base in Turkey, experienced an in-flight breakup, splitting into 3 pieces, and crashed in Georgia, near the Azerbaijan–Georgia border, killing all 20 occupants on board.

The aircraft carried at least 20 occupants, including an unspecified number of crew members. Local media reported that both Turkish and Azerbaijani military personnel were aboard. The Turkish Ministry of Defense said that 20 of its soldiers were on board, without mentioning occupants of other nationalities.

The aircraft involved was a 57-year-old Lockheed C-130EM Hercules designated 68–1609, with manufacturer serial number 382-4311. Built in 1968, it was originally delivered to the Royal Saudi Air Force. It entered service with the Turkish Air Force in March 2010 and was in regular service prior to the accident

All 20 personnel on board a Turkish military cargo plane that crashed in Georgia were killed, Turkey’s defense minister announced on Wednesday.

The C-130 plane was flying from Ganja, Azerbaijan to Turkey when it crashed in Georgia’s Sighnaghi municipality, close to the Azerbaijani border, on Tuesday. The cause of the crash is being investigated.

The military personnel were part of a unit that had traveled to Azerbaijan to take part in that country’s Victory Day celebrations on Saturday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said. The event marked Azerbaijan’s 2020 military success over Armenia for control of the Karabakh region, known internationally as Nagorno-Karabakh, a conflict that had lasted nearly four decades.

A 46-member Turkish accident investigation team reached the crash site and was inspecting the wreckage of the plane, in coordination with the Georgian authorities.

Authorities have so far recovered the remains of 19 of the victims and efforts were continuing to locate one other body, Erdogan added.

The wreckage was spread across a plain that includes farmland and is surrounded by hills, Turkish private broadcaster NTV reported from the site. Debris from the aircraft was scattered across multiple locations, the report said.

The culprit is likely to be the 57 year old plane, which broke up into 3 pieces while mid-flight.

But - is this a new crash of a another C130E or reporting of the same incident?
