“Article Five is less a barrier to conflict than Turkey and its partisans may believe,” he said. “Article Five does not automatically kick in; Nato members have to agree to it. And because Nato is consensus-driven, whether Nato would invoke mutual defence is really an open question.”

The European country that could draw Nato into a conflict with Israel
Israeli officials have described Turkey as the 'new Iran'. Ankara is taking the threat seriouslyinews.co.uk
I am not so sure that the members of NATO will let NATO die that easily just because Israel wants a war, and the barrier for Israel to attack Türkiye is far higher than he suggests.
Israel has been exposed to be quite vulnerable, and Türkiye will fight any war through a "less over thinking/intellectual" lens that Iran has. Iran has failed to impose a real cost on Israel and it is obvious by all to see that Israel is no longer deterred by Iran as it once was and the fault for that lies with Iran's military tactics. Hitting Tel Aviv is pointless yet Iran continues to waste missiles on it and in doing so, ignores significant economic and military targets whose destruction will have long term strategic impact on Israel. eg why hasn't Iran taken out the Intel Fabs in Israel??? They are worth tens of billions of dollars, yet Iran continues to ignore them? That is how flawed Iran's military tactics have been.
Türkiye will not fight the same way, Türkiye will fight properly and impose a real cost on Israel, and Israel knows that.
