Misplaced cultism. That man was the beginning of the end for Pakistan. A coward who ran from the battlefield in Burma, usurped power, led Pakistan into a suicidal situation in 65, nurtured the seeds that broke Pakistan into two by his policies towards Bengalis…

Either way, too late for what happened to Pakistan and who was good or bad…the vultures are circling
We need to strengthen our bonds with both the irani/ turani/ turkish......vurna ye baniye betthay ne.....with a keen eye on us. Look at their media bro.......kuttay de tarha peechhay pay gae hain hamaray. Their whole media focused on us.

I have a simple analogy
If you as a human being are strong at home you work hard and don't rely on relatives for finance decision making and live life on your own terms

Versus

You are lazy or indisciplined can't make decisions over reliant on relatives and friends always asking for support or subtle try to stick with the popular crowd trying to be part of someone's movie life etc ...

Who will have more respect and dignity

You have your answer

By and large most pakistanis are honest and hardworking folk. It is the Elite capture that is draining the country’s resources since it's inception. There are huge amounts of $$$ lying in Swiss accounts offshore havens and properties in UK USA and Middle East. Money laundering is a top sport for these people.

You have vast reserves of gold and copper. Just having reserves does not help. You need to be able to utilize them and make plans for when they are gone.
Exactly but Reko Diq is at a standstill because of our greed and incompetence.

Is this the same as the 75 billion from Saudi? Or the previous 25 bn from UAE? Or the other gajillion billion from Qatar?

Getting hard keeping track of these shenanigans

The saudis and the emirates have figured that all the Pakistani elite care about is the media hype surrounding such mega investment deals and that both sides know won’t see the light of day. The Pakistani elite have something to delude their people with and gain political capital while the saudis and emirates get to paint themselves as mega investors with bottomless resources. Both sides win. Facts are the only casualty.

A world renowned beggar as PM.
A world renowned chawal/fraud/ corrupt as President.
A slave and baysharam mandate stealer as Army Chief.

Had this happened to any other country on the planet, the masses would have been on the streets demanding change.....even if it meant blood had to be spilled. Unfortunately, this Adam has shown weak resistance and are content with the status quo. So they have no right to complain either. If you want change, you need to act and not expect miracles.

Corruption is rife in India to buddy on massive scale
Money laundering multiple times bigger
Black economy probably five times bigger
But that is not the reason Pakistan has not realised it's potential
The simple fact is your army is corrupt and will not let Pakistan establish legitimate govt agencies that are skilled and forward thinking to build up your nation

Your army and it's iron grip on politics strategic thinking and mindset has you in a striaght jacket

Look around the world which army runs a country for decades

Only African tin pot regimes

Army is there to protect borders from .the commander in chief or the govt who represent the 250 million Pakistanis

Right now you have army dictating everything
How taxes are spent
How you trade
What you stand for in the new world order
No leadership no business minds poor unqualified uninspiring diplomats

Indians get more respect

Indeed, this is a fact when discussing business with some UAE counterparts. The latest figures by The Economist based on the Indian Embassy in the UAE stated that 60% of Chief Financial Officers of major firms are of Indian Origin in the UAE. They are 37% of the population while Pakistan is approximately 18%, and rarely does it occupy an executive C-Suite post. Out of 3,000 start-ups in 2022, the Indians were 200. Add to this, the majority of new fund managers are Indians.

Now, as to why the Emirates will prefer India for investment purposes, it's because the Indians control the purse and pulse of the economy. When one is at the helm you can steer the ship at your will.

I don't know how true Rothchild's statement is attributed to them: "Let us control the money of a country, and we care not who makes its laws." But regardless the meaning holds true.

We truly are an embarrassed nation on the world stage. I say this with a heavy heart as I am a Pakistani, but it's a bitter pill we have to swallow.

Misplaced cultism. That man was the beginning of the end for Pakistan. A coward who ran from the battlefield in Burma, usurped power, led Pakistan into a suicidal situation in 65, nurtured the seeds that broke Pakistan into two by his policies towards Bengalis…

I studied the Ayub Khan Era the so-called Golden Era of Pakistan; it was nothing but aid and grants pumping the economy. He subsided imports to make things affordable for the common man but more so for the few at the top, which is a waste. It went as far as subsidizing luxury vehicles, purses, perfumes, etc. for a nation that was newly created a decade prior; any little development he did, he offloaded those assets penny on the dollar to the few industrial families of the country.

He gave control to these families in various governmental agencies, most prominently the Dawood Family of Dawood Hercules. They issued export permits and gave few authorizations to other smaller companies, hampering growth. This allowed these families to grow to such an outsized influence that they married into bureaucratic families to control policies.

During Ayub's rule, it's estimated that his government took in $6 billion in aid and grants on the low end, equivalent to $58 billion in today's dollar terms. Imagine if the funds were utilized correctly where we would be standing today. To give a general idea, if we used the compound interest formula, let's say we just had $ 6 billion to work with and a growth rate of 5% per year from 1951 to 2024. That $ 6 billion starting point as GDP would be approximately $ 129 billion; this simplified calculation does not consider re-investment and other growth factors.

All we got from Bhutto and his father (Ayub) when they protested against American Vietnam policies after the aid meeting was delayed is below:

“If we are not going to be ruled from No. 10 Downing Street,” said another, “then, by God, we are not going to be ruled by Wall Street.” Next day Ayub himself took up the cry: “If friendship impinges on the sovereignty and independence of our country and is against our interests, we no longer desire such friendship.”

Once Pakistani tempers cooled, negotiations could continue. For the moment, Pakistan was suffering an acute case of hurt pride, and as one U.S. official admitted ruefully.
