Unrest in AJK Update and Discussion

I had a detailed call with my friend from Muzaffarabad on today’s horror. What I’m told is beyond shocking. Awami Action Committee (AAC) had sought permission to hold a rally. It got that. The government had already accepted all the demands and told AAC that a package from Islamabad will be announced as a confirmation too. However, AAC wanted to hold a rally to show its strength and conclude the protests. While the rally was on, Pakistani paramilitaries (Rangers) who were not supposed to manage protests today, suddenly started arriving in convoys and hovering over the protesters in helicopters. It provoked protesters and lead to anti-military sloganeering. The Rangers responded by firing live shots straight at the protesters, killing at least three of them and maiming dozens of others. People couldn’t believe what they were seeing. It was like a program.

Rangers were not supposed to be around the protesters since there was permission to hold the protest and it was supposed to disburse with a celebration. Rangers were never needed.

With interior minister out of the country in Ireland enjoying cricket, ‘his’ troops murdering civilians in Azad Kashmir, local officials clueless on who deployed the Rangers and ordered them to open fire at the civilians, there is something more than meets the eye.

What a tragic day for Azad Kashmir and for Pakistan. It can have devastating impact on Kashmir’s relation with Pakistan. What a win for Modi and India.

Bro, come forward and propose your solution to the current problems. In my opinion, we have created and nurtured so many mafias in Pakistan. Now those mafias are trying to wage a war against the state. When and where the government tries to rein in any of these mafias, many of them react in cohesion with a counter offensive against the state at many different fronts.

I agree with what you have described. If the water supply to a house is cut off, getting a new geyser wouldn't restore the water supply to it. But the question is how to resume the water supply? You first need to analyze and diagnose what and where exactly is the problem and only then you plan how to address it.

Whatever the solution is, it definitely isn't to create a boogey strawman while the real culprit runs free.

Aik masoom banday ko jail main daal kar asli daku nhn pakra jata.

I see all these protests and fight over cheaper food and energy.. all problems which can be somewhat solved when Pakistan decides to lift ban on trade with India .. ironically that ban was placed due to Art 370 removal on Kashmir .. and now their side of Kashmir is facing the brunt of this ban.
Food is inexpensive in India because the Indian government heavily subsidizes it, spending 36-40 billion dollars annually on the food security scheme alone.
Healthcare, Electricity, Fuel etc are cheap for the same reason

PM MODI knows the polictics of J&K more than you and i can ever imagine or talk on open forums for that matter

as they say kheer hamesha thandee kerkke khanee chiyye ;)

and why BJP is not fighting any seats from Kashmir must be a party decission... maybe BJP is not ready to play its cards but one things for sure i was there a few weeks back and an avrage kashmiri muslim was very happy specially how things have got better post dissalution of Article 370 & 35A which systematically killed the drug trade and hegemony of Addullha and mufti family in Kashmeer

Assumptions assumptions indy boy ..

Google Mendhar and you will find out if the little impotent Gujju or he's little assuming pakistan obsessed troll know better than I .

Bro Ranjit singh and his clan were the only ones that defended kashmiriyat and punjabiyat, you probably need to take a step back and let have these locals have a say here...

Ranjit cock eye bastard is a hero of pakistanis , Kashmiris hate him with a passion , you should hear our folk tales about the kaana raami

Frankly speaking, some nationalism is good for the Kashmir cause in the long run as Establishment seems to have given up. Establishment will think twice about attempting to destroy the Kashmiri identity as part of some grand muk-muka.

PS: You can make whatever deal you want with the region's Chaudhary saab but Chaudhary saab will ultimately do what he wants.
Do you really think so? Imagine how easy it will be to incite Punjabi and Sindhi by politicians that Pakistan Kashmir get 3 rupee per unit why Punjab give wheat cheap. Rightly or wrongly visionless freebies destroy nation.

Instead of funneling in subsidy money that they'd inevitably fund by increasing bills for those who pay
Government should have given straight forward royalty to Ajk gov
Or could have said we are short on money right now and accordingly do the best you could
Raise new taxes or have a whole royalty in bills built in
A reasonable royalty rate as dams themselves are built by taxpayer money that the local people do not "own" as a birthright
A reasonable royalty rate that takes into account environmental, livelihood factors etc

I would have been much much more comfortable with it but this decision sets a bad precedence in so many ways that it'd take me an hour to write down in detail

Yes Karachi and urban Punjab would be paying for the cheap electricity, subsidies to a region that is already more prosperous than ours as government has surrendered and would inevitably pass down the costs to those paying bills

Bills don't go anywhere with ghairat they just get passed down to those willing to pick up the slack no matter the kanging we do on internet

If bread costs 20 pkr it'll cost 20 pkr no matter how much you protests
Only thing you're doing is getting that bread for 10 pkr while the other guy who was previously paying 20 pkr would now have to pay 25 pkr
That's the only difference

Others ghairat would show up in your bills and if everyone starts showing ghairat than none of us would be able to afford that bread anymore as those making breads would simply leave because they were unable to recoup the Pkr they were promised in return for setting up their mill

I hope Imran Khan becomes PM again

It would be fun seeing him giving electricity on these rates and also fulfilling other demands like no taxes etc

And I heard that protestors first killed a cop and kidnapped and tortured others, like TLP did not too long ago.

Still, PTI bots are spreading fake news to slander their opposition, at the expense of the unity of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Shameful. What a win for Modi and India indeed.

Khakis need to put Khan in power for a full term, it will end the PTI cult.

I am talking about nationalism not subsidies.

Embarrassing.....
But I and other patriots urge not to involve the armed forces.
The disgusting thugs came from the Punjab police and federal authorities.

Some wise man once said, "Actions speak louder than words". We've witnessed the actions of soldiers and what they do to this land and this Nation. It is unfortunate that your words cannot undo what the eyes have seen.
