شرحِ اسبابِ گرفتاریِ خاطر مت پوچھ
اس قدر تنگ ہوا دل کہ میں زنداں سمجھا

سفرِ عشق میں کی ضعف نے راحت طلبی
ہر قدم سائے کو میں اپنے شبستان سمجھا
 
Today marks the twenty-second anniversary of the passing of esteemed poet, writer, and editor Sehba Lakhnavi, also known as Syed Sharaft Ali, born on December 25, 1919, in Bhopal state.

Following the establishment of Pakistan, he relocated to Karachi and initiated the publication of "Afkar" magazine in 1951, which ran uninterrupted for 57 years.

Lakhnavi's literary contributions include poetry collections such as "Mah Paray" and "Zir Asman," along with prose works like "Meray Khwabon ki Sarzameen," "Iqbal Aur Bhopal," "Majaz Aik Ahang," "Armaghan e Majnu," "Rais Amrohavi Fun o Shaksiat," and "Manto Aik Kitab."

He passed away in Karachi on this day in 2002.

We honor the memory of the esteemed poet Munir Niazi on his birth anniversary. Born on April 9, 1928, near Hoshiarpur, he relocated to Pakistan after partition and became renowned as one of the country's distinguished movie songwriters.

Alongside his contributions to newspapers and radio, he initiated the weekly publication 'Saat Rang' in 1949 and established the Al-Misal publication institute in 1960. Throughout his life in Lahore, where he remained associated with Lahore Television until his passing, his poetry left an indelible mark on young writers and poets.

Niazi's poetic collections, both in Urdu and Punjabi, have earned widespread acclaim, influencing not only his contemporaries but also future generations of poets. Recognized for his literary prowess, Niazi received several prestigious awards, including the Kamal-e-Funn Award in 2002 and the President's Award for Pride of Performance in 1992.

He breathed his last on December 26, 2006, in Lahore, leaving behind a legacy cherished by readers worldwide.
