The distinguished poet, lyricist, columnist, and creator of popular national songs, including "Jeevay Jeevay Pakistan," Nawabzada Mirza Jamiluddin Ahmed Khan, widely known as Jamiluddin Aali. Referred to affectionately as "Aali Ji" by many, he pursued a career in banking and maintained a 50-year association with Anjuman Tarraqi-e-Urdu Pakistan from 1962 to 2012, alongside his literary endeavors.

His significant role in promoting Urdu and contributing to the establishment of the Urdu University, a vision of Baba-e-Urdu (Maulana Abdul Haq), is widely acknowledged.

Aali's credit includes crafting one of the longest poems in Urdu literature, "Insaan," comprising 4000 verses, in addition to numerous Nazms and Ghazals.

He passed away due to a heart attack on November 23, 2015, and was laid to rest in Karachi.

Today marks the eighth anniversary of the demise of esteemed Urdu writer Intizar Hussain. Born in India in 1925, Hussain gained widespread acclaim for his contributions to novels, short stories, poetry, and non-fiction.

Having pursued Urdu literature at a university in Meerut, India, he later relocated to Lahore.His novel, "Basti" (1979), addressing the partition of the subcontinent, garnered international recognition when shortlisted for the Man Booker International Prize in 2013 after translation.

Intizar Hussain, throughout his life, maintained an association with journalism, contributing columns to prominent newspapers until his passing.

Acknowledged for his literary achievements, he received numerous national and international awards, including the Sitara-i-Imtiaz from the government of Pakistan.
Intizar Hussain passed away on February 2, 2016, in Lahore.

درد آنکھوں سے آنکتا ہوں میں
دور مشکل میں ہی سہی ارشدؔ
ان کو اب یاد آ گیا ہوں میں
