Al - Haider VT-4 MBT - The Premier PA Ground Asset [Developments]

Was this tank fully produced and built locally, or is it a situation where all the parts are shipped from China and assembled in Pakistan?
It's likely manufactured locally, but the tank is absolutely the chinese vt-4.

The ToT from this will likely help Pakistan to upgrade its Al-Khalid.

Pakistan defence programs in the last decade:

- Al Khalid II, scratch that let’s do license production of VT4 and call it Haidar.

- NGFA, let’s do Kaan? FC31? Confusion confusion.

- Faaz 2, let’s merge?! It with Turkish program (I read it as cancel)

- Indigenous fighter AESA, thrown in some dark corner.

Don't have to re invent the wheel if wheels are available for local manufacturing at even less prices

Spend the energy at some thing else
If everyone thinks like that the wheel won’t have been invented. It’s not just defence, we have become/ are a easy way out import everything country. It’s the same in every sector.

An agri country that imports food. A country that can’t refine its own petroleum, can’t make its own pharma salts, can’t make enough raw material for its biggest export sector (cotton), can’t make its own steel (actually worse off than it was 20 years ago), can’t localize cars and the list goes on. And to pay for it all imports capital via debt.

But yes, let’s import and not reinvent the wheel.

The Haider tank is characterized by a traditional design, where the driver sits in the middle of the front of the hull, the turret is located in the middle, and the engine is in the back. The tank consists of a crew of three people (the driver, the commander, and the gunner).

The Haider's main armament consists of a 125 mm smoothbore gun capable of firing a wide range of munitions including APFSDS, HE and HEAT as well as anti-tank guided missiles.

The tank carries a total of 38 rounds. Secondary armament includes a 7.62 mm coaxial machine gun and a remotely operated weapons station mounted at the rear of the command hatch which is equipped with a 12.7 mm heavy machine gun.

Tank armor is a combination of composite, reactive and spaced armour. Composite armor consists of layers of materials such as ceramic, metal, and polymers that work together to resist penetrating projectiles.

The tank is powered by a 1,200 hp electronically controlled four-stroke turbocharged diesel engine coupled to a hydraulic automatic transmission. It can travel at a maximum speed of 70 km/h with a maximum cruising range of 500 km.

The tank is equipped with an advanced fire control system that includes a set of sensors and targeting devices to enhance the tank's accuracy and its ability to achieve lethal hits on the battlefield.

The system is designed to provide the tank crew with a clear picture of the battlefield and help them identify and engage targets quickly and effectively.

The tank's main gun is equipped with a thermal imaging system that allows the gunner to provide thermal vision of targets at long distances, even in low-light conditions. The tank is also equipped with a laser rangefinder, which enables the gunner to measure the target's distance with high accuracy. In addition to the thermal imager, the tank is also equipped with a panoramic commander's periscope which provides a 360-degree view of the battlefield.

The fire control system also includes a ballistic computer, which calculates target data for the main gun based on the target's distance, angle and other factors in order to achieve an accurate target hit.

Overall, the Haider tank's fire command and control system is designed to provide the tank's crew with a high level of situational awareness and targeting ability, making it an effective and lethal combat tank on the modern battlefield.

Plz merge this thread with existing thread

Final number of these Tanks should be 1000. And I don't know what the future of Tanks after these is. Will we see another Tank inducted in future or not.

all the parts are shipped from china and assembled in Pakistan.Pakistan doesn’t have the capacity to build tank kits indigenously.
Engine yes but all parts are produced in Pakistan. When we get TOT of weapons that means we are producing all parts in Pakistan except for engine. That is not made in Pakistan but for ground weapon systems. All parts are made in Pakistan. For Air Force around 60 % for JF-17 and almost all for except for engine for other jets.
