Trump Officials Announce More Than $11 Billion in Arms Sales for Taiwan

I am not disputing this, read my posts again, deployed assets are not as effective as permanent ones. Just becuase it does not sync in with your idea of what reality is that is not my problem.

Gosh, thank god most of the yanks I work with are not as thick as you. What are you? Some 16 year old red neck?

No longer interested in trying to educate you, your family seemed to have failed in that regards, off to ignore you go

Once again, only dumb one here is yourself. You have no argument to make. You understand both the Washington and Tripoli groups are permanently stationed in Japan right? Both have F-35 units stationed with them. The F-35Bs of the Tripoli are stationed at Iwakuni. That’s real capability stationed forward. I understand this must be difficult for you.

Funnily enough if you history search Mr F-22 with keyword Constellation class frigates, you would see a bunch of boasting and yet he never talks about it anymore.

As I said, new frigate design already approved and will be in next years budget

KADENA AIR BASE, Japan -- Operating out of Kadena Air Base, the 1-1 Air Defense Artillery commands four Mobile Interceptor Missile-104 Patriot missile batteries, rotating and deploying them across the region when needed while maintaining a constant aerial defense presence on Okinawa. These Soldiers stand ready to defend against any aerial strike that threatens U.S. forces or allied nations.

The US Army operates a Patriot battalion out of Okinawa, or 4 Patriot batteries of 32 launchers.

That doesn’t include Japans own 4 Patriot batteries on Okinawa. So around 60 total Patriot launchers.
Here are three examples.

Event 1: On the Korean battlefield, the US military, in order to retreat, fired flares over the heads of British troops, exposing their positions, after which the British troops were annihilated.

Event 2: On the evening of November 26, 2011, a NATO helicopter crossed the border and attacked a post in the Mohmand District on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, killing 24 Pakistani soldiers and injuring 13 others. The airstrike lasted nearly two hours, and continued even after Pakistani commanders requested a ceasefire. The Pakistani government demanded that the United States withdraw from the Shamsi Air Base in the southwestern Balochistan province of Pakistan within 15 days.

Event 3: In 2022, the United States designated Qatar as a “Major Non-NATO Ally.” On May 14, 2025, the United States and Qatar signed an economic and military cooperation agreement worth over $243.5 billion. On September 10, 2025, Israel bombed Qatar. At the end of September 2025, US President Trump signed an executive order pledging that the United States would ensure Qatar’s security.

Therefore, your claim that the US is “always ready to defend against any airstrike threat to the US military or its allies” does not exist. Countries cooperating with the United States need to be aware of potential attacks by the US or its allied forces.

No long range Spy6/7, no VLS, no COGAG, no Data Link/CEC no EW... It must be redone completely, what can be wrong???.

The USN doesn’t need mini Burke’s, we need frigates that can free up Burke’s. Mini Burke’s were what the Connie’s were morphing into. The frigates will have MK-70 launchers, which can launch Tomahawk, SM-6 etc. We’ll have to wait for further details.

The US put 170,000-190,000 tons of air and naval ordnance on Okinawa over 82 days, and the fighting was still ferocious. Pounding Taiwan with missiles won’t get them anywhere, and China doesn’t have anywhere near the number of missiles it needs to subjugate Taiwan anyway.
lol China has thousands of missiles and rockets. It can pound Taiwan into oblivion and there is nothing the US can do about it. Iranian missiles pierced through THAAD, Arrow etc I can only shudder to think what Chinese hypersonic will do

The USN navy got their arses royally kicked by people in sandals in Yemen!!! They have no chance going up against the Chinese mainland.
Bro ???. The US Navy intercepted hundreds of missiles and drones in the Red Sea and conducted many strikes in Yemen to degrade the Houthi ASW capability.

"The U.S. Navy has defended against nearly 400 attack drones and missiles in the Red Sea since Iranian-backed Houthi militants began their assault on commercial and military ships more than a year ago, a pace that has seen the service firing back at levels comparable to World War II battles."

The Iranians got a few licks, no one is denying that, but Iran is still there, the regime is still there and the American / Israel operation was a strategic failure ...

It was the Americans who wanted a way out of the dead end they got caught in. Yemen still continued to target ships heading to Israel, that never changed. So, failure for the USN, and win for Yemen.

It is a war. And a war between Russia and the whole of NATO resources will be an uphill struggle, but the Russians are wearing down Ukraine and achieving their objectives. That is clear for all to see.
A war is not necessarily fought to wipe out a country. A war can be fought in pursuit of limited objective(s) in a particular region. The US-Israel duo wanted to cripple Iranian nuclear infrastructure and have managed to do so, regime change was not on the cards to that end. Reza Pahlavi tried to convince Trump to help him come to power in Iran but Trump ignored him. Trump needs to consult American Congress for launching a regime change operation in a distant country like Iran.

"Overall, the damage caused by airstrikes to numerous nuclear sites was extensive and, in many cases, catastrophic. Iran has since undertaken damage assessments and efforts to conduct clean up and fortification work to varying extent at several sites."

The Houthi are well-versed in the art of war but they created underground infrastructure to store weapons and help reduce losses in war. They still reached out to Oman to help negotiate an end to hostilities with the US.

"At the core of the agreement lies a quid pro quo first floated by Ansarullah, also known as the Houthis, weeks ago: the Yemeni group will stop targeting commercial vessels while the US will halt airstrikes in Yemen. Though seemingly transactional, the deal carries far-reaching geopolitical implications—not only reducing the risk of escalation in a sensitive maritime corridor, but also potentially reinforcing nuclear diplomacy between Tehran and Washington."

The Houthi could launch missiles and drones at Israel but could not stop Israeli Navy in the Red Sea when it was dispatched to conduct strikes in Yemen post-American operation in the region. This development indirectly suggests that the Houthi have lost much of their ASW capability in war with the US.

Please keep in mind that Yemen faces severe media censorship and repression from all warring factions, so you won't get any confession(s) from the Houthi. They will claim victory in typical regional fashion.

The PLAN kept its distance from the Red Sea crises and does not have operational and technical experience on the level of the US Navy. WE should give credit where due in our talks.

The USN doesn’t need mini Burke’s, we need frigates that can free up Burke’s. Mini Burke’s were what the Connie’s were morphing into. The frigates will have MK-70 launchers, which can launch Tomahawk, SM-6 etc. We’ll have to wait for further details.
you didn't sound like this when you boasted contestellion class.

Has the US delivered the 66 F-16s that Taiwan has already purchased?
The F-16 fighter jets that the United States sold to Taiwan are a "top-of-the-line," "optically stealthy version" that is invisible even to the naked eye.

====================================================

The essence of US arms sales to Taiwan is that the US is exploiting Taiwan, not helping Taiwan resist the PRC.
1. US arms sales to Taiwan are conducted on a full prepayment basis. This means that the full payment is made immediately after the contract is signed. Some prepayments exceed the final settlement amount, and the excess is not refunded, but instead the US uses some inferior products to offset the difference.
2. The prices of US arms sold to Taiwan are far higher than the prices the US charges other countries, and the performance of the equipment is often degraded.
3. Taiwan has no power to choose its purchase list. The things they want, the US doesn't sell. The things they don't want, the US forces them to buy, and they have to accept them.
4. The US uses many expired, obsolete, and defective products, refurbishes them, and then sells them to Taiwan at high prices.
...

There are many such scandals.
However, Western media will not report on them. The Taiwanese DPP suppresses the media of the opposition parties in Taiwan, making it difficult for them to speak out. If you understand Chinese, you can find some Chinese versions of this kind of news on YouTube.

Taiwan's military is already rotten and completely lacking in combat capability.

The biggest challenge for the PRC regarding the Taiwan issue is not the US, nor the Taiwanese military. It is how to effectively govern Taiwan after reunification.

One major thing which most of fan bois overlook is that if USA/China goes to War over Taiwan, and if by any chance China is losing or on verge of Defeat they will use the "N-word" and than the US has to decide to fight China and go down with 100's of Nukes flying over China and Main land US, or just back off to a already pointless fight, once the Chinese Operation begins in Taiwan then its pretty much over, China if they are unable to capture the Island will make sure that nothing left standing there, now If USA launch military strikes against the mainland China that will open China to launch attacks on mainland USA, are US people willing to die for Taiwanese ? I doubt it given how GenZ and whatever Gen comes later has no appetite for War.
In case of a full scale war between US/China over Taiwan, Taiwan entire Cities will be rubble, US and China will see major set backs in military, both countries will see thousands of military personnel dead, if they decide to hit each other's cities than thousands of civilians dead, and all those US macho allies in the region, they are there until the Missiles start flying over Tokyo and other major capital cities, no Allied country will let their own civilian die for US or Taiwan, heck even NATO didn't send its troops to Ukraine and risk their capitals been bombed by Russia.
So people needs to calm their tits down, China is playing a long games, I don't agree with it but they are trying to take Taiwan without leveling the entire Island, if this was USA and America has claims over the Island we know what would've happen to Taiwan by now.
You have a noob take on this theme. War in Taiwan sounds easy in forums but China does not seem to be up for it. I recall the October Surprise thread created by a Chinese member on the old PDF in 2020 (click to read); 39 pages of entertainment in it.

China is in a bind on this issue due to following reasons:

1. War in Taiwan have the potential to disrupt TSMC and spark a global computing crisis.

"If China were to launch a blockade or invasion of Taiwan, the world would not only face a supply chain crisis but also the possible loss of the singular human capital that powers advanced chip production."

This war is bad news for the economy of many countries including China itself.

2. Approximately 80% of Japan's energy imports pass through the seas around Taiwan. Japan have sufficient basis to support Taiwan in the event of Chinese invasion.

3. If Japan intervenes in the Sino-Taiwan war, the US cannot stand by and ignore this development. Supporting Japan is NOT OPTIONAL for the US unlike Ukraine.

Chinese military buildup and excercises around Taiwan have not deterred Japan and the US but have pushed both to respond in kind. Japan and the US are setting up new defenses in the region. Phillippines and Australia are also supporting Japan and the US in these matters.

"Sitting just 110 kilometers (68 miles) east of Taiwan, Yonaguni marks the tail end of an archipelago stretching north to Japan’s main islands, a distance roughly equivalent to the length of the California coastline. Ever since former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s trip to Taipei in 2022 prompted China to fire missiles that landed near Yonaguni, Japan has accelerated plans for its largest military buildup in at least four decades."

"The Indo-Pacific is entering a new missile age, marked by rapid proliferation of advanced missile systems amid intensifying US-China strategic competition. The US deployment of the Navy-Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System (NMESIS) in the Philippines, Japan’s test of its Type 88 anti-ship missile in June 2025, Australia’s procurement of hypersonic and long-range air-to-air missiles from the United States, South Korea’s debut of the Hyunmoo-5 ballistic missile, and India’s export of BrahMos to the Philippines signal a coordinated effort to counter China’s growing military reach. Alongside this, China’s own deployment of hypersonic missiles, such as the DF-17 and YJ-21, underscores its aim and ambition to dominate not only the first island chain but also the South China Sea. These developments, driven by strategic rivalry, risk escalating tensions, particularly around flashpoints like the Taiwan Strait, threatening regional stability and global trade."

The US is also developing and deploying new missile systems in the Pacific including Typhon and Dark Eagle. The US Navy found a golden opportunity to test its defenses in the Red Sea while PLAN kept its distance.

While China continues to wait, other countries are finding time to improve their defenses and come up with a better plan and strategy for potential intervention in Taiwan. An outcome less than regime change in Taiwan will be a major strategic setback to China. It can also affect Chinese strategic calculus in the South China Sea where more countries want to secure their interests.

Chinese nuclear sabre-rattling may not help either. It can affect Chinese international image. Many countries and companies are already exploring ways to revisit their supply chains. TSMC is also investing in the US.

Chinese planners probably assume that their best bet is to annex Taiwan without firing a shot: "The greatest victory is that which requires no battle." - Sun Tzu. Chinese military exercises around Taiwan might be aimed to reshape public opinion in Taiwan, to convince them to accept reunification. But Taiwan have not surrendered yet. People in Taiwan may not desire war but well-designed polls do not give the impression that they will fold at the first sign of trouble.

But... but... Cheen Simps think that China can wipe out Taiwan, Japan, the US, Philippines and Australia in this hypothetical war like in the PDF-exclusive October Surprise Saga. Absolutely, son.

China has enough means to resolve the Taiwan issue. My friend, please trust the Chinese people. As for how it will be resolved, we just need to wait for the outcome. What I can tell you is that, just like Pakistan set the record for the furthest air combat kill, the military operation to reclaim Taiwan will surpass the Gulf War, without the use of nuclear weapons; this is a new era.

Trump's purpose should be twofold.

If the Chinese government cares about it, Trump is creating a bargaining chip that can be traded.

If the Chinese government does not accept negotiations, Trump can use it to maintain a tough image, which is beneficial for the 2026 election. Trump can also use it to buy off the military industrial complex and the Pentagon. Trump is currently cracking down on illegal immigration and threatening Venezuela, which requires military support.

If this deal can create tension in the Taiwan Strait, Trump can also use it to obtain more budget from Congress.

I still prefer Trump. I don't like Biden. It's better to show your hand openly than to do sneaky things behind the scenes.

As a Chinese saying goes: A dog that wants to bite won't bark.

Old established powers keep themselves floating cause they are buoyed by their image.....rising powers always come up with out of the box solutions to kick their butts .... it's like law of nature.
