Everyone knows this attack is coming, but most of us don't know why Trump did this. Because this is going to show a lot of stuff Israeli and the US had in the region out in the open, and unless this is followed by a full-on ground invasion (Which is NOT going to happen). I honestly don't know why Israel and the US need to assassinate Khamenei, because it won't make any difference in the nuclear talks by making him a martyr. Nethanyu, sure, he needs a war to stay afloat, but the US does not gain anything from this, which baffled me. And I can't predict anything if there is no endgame in sight........

At this point, not much anyone could do, this is going to have a full-on effect on oil price, becaused you stopped 20%, let's just hope that Trump was having his PMS (i know that's a woman thing) and throwing tandem just for a bit and stop in a few weeks when whatever in his mind was gone and he was reminded of the gas price. But if this is darker than I thought, then we are looking at some sort of Naval and Air Operation, because they would need to break the Iranian blockade in Hormuz, which means they need to run a convoy protection and interdiction mission in Hormuz; you can't do that with just 2 Carrier Battle Groups in the wrong side of Hormuz.

Guess we will know in a couple of days to see if Trump is moving more air and naval assets in the area.

there are many Kuwaiti's and Emirati's of Iranian origin. Many are treated as second class citizens based on family name. So i'm not surprised if these jets were targeted intentionally. However, there was a similar incident during the first gulf war when a gaggle of US fighters were targeted by Turkish air defense. Fortunately the presence of wild weasels in the air saved the day and everyone RTB without incident. I'm not ruling out incompetence since the incident could have been avoided by calibrating the Kuwaiti friend or foe systems.

You need to disregard many protocols to shoot down 3 of your friendlies. 1, maybe, 2, well, you are pushing it. 3 means either they care F all about those jet or they are doing this on purpose.

They run on the same C4I structure (at least when I was there in 2003). There would be either a US Air Force colonel in charge of AD or a USAF liaison if the base is small. And you don't generally do that before you launch a missile anyway. I once had a British Tornado drift into our AO in Afghanistan by accident. They shut down the entire grid to make sure everyone is on the same page, so nothing stupid would happen.

I dunno, maybe they are incompetent to this level? Otherwise, they know it was USAF F-15s.
