I don't agree with this philosophy. we should maximize the equipment when it goes out at sea to inflict vital blow if need be. 4 missiles are a deterrent, they can take out 1 or 2 targets max, 8 of them are a punch
Did you ignore the part where they out range you?

Dont get me wrong but how the heck we are going to continue our A2/AD strategy if the IN decides to lob for say 14 Brahmos from long distances?
Our AD is not good for large scale attacks , AshBM need large censor fusion for accurate strikes. and we have to keep in mind that IAF will most probably help the IN in attacking our assets and to keep PAF busy (which only has 30 j10s for peer to peer competition )
It just feels all hope lost :(
I believe this is already being addressed with new AD being acquired, which are also more suited to deal with the brahmos threat.

Another more simple method is force dispersion, IMO PN should focus on building a proper second naval base in Gwadar and a submarine base in Ormara with underground pens.

Ormara and Gwadar will be protected by sheer distance from any land based brahmos and PN subs will keep IN ships at bay to make sure they don't get in range.

Even the navy's current on going projects aren't looking at addressing the AD part of the A2/AD doctrine. Jinnah Class Frigate still stuck with 16 VLS, you might as well "text" your adversary at that point

i dont think the deck could support the weight without punching a hole in it 1 CM302= same weight as 3 and a half c802's!
India added 8 brahmos on its Talwar class frigates (central to its western fleet) and it has 6 of them along with the Tushil class and Shavlik class vessels.. and still i am NOT taking in account the 3 Kolkata class and at least 2 Vishakhapatnam class destroyers . So we are looking at a jam packed enemy.
i think the induction of more gun boats can make this somewhat survivable don't you think?

imo pn's best bet will be to fund the development/integration of a 4pack missile for the H/AJK-16 VLS system, but also perhaps fund the adaptation of an anti shipper for it too. This would ditch the HQ-16 which is utter rubbish in its current form, and also allow for a proper defensive/offensive capability. Could carry something else amidships.

The H/AJK-16 is the same cross sectional size as a MK41 VLS cell. The PLAN obviously has less interest in it since the ships are dated etc, however, if the PN was to do the above, with a sensor refresh perhaps, it would be a VERY good solution to eventually pick up used 054A hulls, making it a cheap fleet addition, only if the missiles and sensors can match though

So what would we be ditching the hq 16 for? modern hq 16fs? even if not HQ16s we would still be left with Chinese options which would require further sensor and radar upgrades..
and that just increases the costs of it.
IMO china has rolled out newer type 54Ds with newer hq16s maybe a decade later we should move on ?

anything, from the below works. More modern, more agile, more mag depth!

But cm302 is also way better than c802.

The kill probability is high.

The weight of missile means if it hits an enemy ship the enemy ship will have alot of damage.

We are no navy guys. But typr 054 had option of 8 c802 but opted for cm302 for a reason.

Major oil 🛢 shipment reaches Karachi

This should give breathing space for about a month. Pakistan produces about 10% of its oil locally so oil disruption for civilian activities should have no impact on availability for Military purposes.
