Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Ha! If Iran were to do that then the narrative would immediately shift to the "infamous day" of April 21st, 2026 when big bad Iran attacked the innocent lovely pure US and Israel for no good reason whatsoever. History would begin on that day just like Oct 7th or Dec 6th. It would be mentally very comforting to Americans and Israelis and they would feel no remorse in dropping nukes on Iran as "retaliation".
Yeah sucks but they have to wait for the attack first trump is desperate to throw NATO under the bus and put them in front of the fire but hopefully people will give Iran the heads up when aircraft start flying in large formations to Iran will see if they give Iran the heads up like good allies

The US is not self-sufficient in oil by any means. Neither do global oil prices work that way.
Usa is completely suffient in oil
And global prices are irrelevant
Yes it will cause inflation but money stays in USA

Infact this may work out great for USA if USA LNG Floods the system as uptill now USA gas isnt being export and lying unused

They still trying to convince themselves that they are doing all this for the people of Iran, and if the country is destroyed the Iranians will be happy, what about the Iranians who support their regime and leaders that America killed? are they not Iranians?

❗️Iran's Tasnim News Agency reports on Iran's final decision not to attend Islamabad talks on Wednesday and the reasons behind this decision:

• "Despite all the media atmosphere-building and rumor-mongering by American officials, the Iranian negotiating team, for various reasons, has informed the American side through the Pakistani intermediary that it will not be present in Islamabad, Pakistan on Wednesday, and for now there is no outlook for participating in the negotiations either."

• "Relevant sources believe regarding the reason for the absence: after Pakistan entered into mediation and requested a ceasefire from the American side, Iran, based on the 10-point framework it presented and which was accepted by the US, accepted this ceasefire and the negotiations that followed it to end the war."

• "Pakistan also explicitly announced the acceptance of this framework by the Americans. However, immediately afterward, in the following days, breaches of commitment by the Americans began."

• "The Americans first, by completely violating their commitments, did not impose the ceasefire in Lebanon on Israel, and this issue for several days confronted the negotiations with serious obstacles."

• "Also, the Americans in the very first round of the Islamabad negotiations that was held, raised many excessive demands which effectively violated those initial frameworks, and this issue completely brought this round of negotiations to a deadlock, because despite defeat in the field, the US believed it could compensate for failure in the war through excessive demands in negotiations."

• "In any case, a few days after the Islamabad negotiations, the US, faced with Iran’s definite threat of a missile attack on Israel, was forced to operationalize the ceasefire in Lebanon."

• "After that, Seyyed Araghchi, Iran’s foreign minister, announced that Iran, based on the initial ceasefire framework, would reopen the Strait of Hormuz to commercial ships within that agreed initial framework. However, this action by Iran was immediately accompanied by hostile action by the Americans in continuing the claimed naval blockade."

• "In the messages exchanged in recent days as well, the Americans did not retreat from excessive demands and demands against the definite rights of the Iranian nation, and no meaningful progress was made in the exchanged messages."

• "For this reason, Iran ultimately announced today that under these conditions, participating in negotiations is a waste of time, because the US is preventing any appropriate agreement from being reached. Therefore, it will not enter into the American game."

• "This matter has been announced today through the Pakistani intermediary as well, and Iran, to fully safeguard the rights of its nation, will not be present in Pakistan tomorrow."

Agreed.

Trump has backed down for several reasons, NOT because of some "uncertainty" or "lack of consensus" among Iranian negotiators. Also NOT because more assets need shifting (they've had 50 days to shift assets now, what else do they need? Jesus to appear??).

Iran clearly can exert economic leverage and Trump fears that oil spike. That may be Iran's only card though.

Either this is all a pointless drama just to let Israel have its way in Lebanon and Gaza and WB/Jerusalem.....OR....USA plans some very long war of attrition while trying to keep markets and commodities under general control (hence avoiding dramatic escalations in favour of small intermittent hostile acts).

On paper the US is sufficient. In reality the US still imports the oil that's actually used in cars and trucks because it lacks the refineries for its domestic oil. This article explains it further.

Which is why they shouldn't delay. The IRGC should not give an F what others think of them by striking first after this pause. Use it before you lose it, they already lost a lot the first round the second round is likely going to be a more intense bombing campaign by Orangeman for not taking his deal.
Absolutely. If they have them in the quantities that they claim, the firing should be more intense. How are the Israeli aircraft taking off from their bases? It means that they haven't been destroyed.

Iran has paraded a number of Ghadr, Kheibar Shekan, and Khorramshahr missiles (and their launchers) in public today

the problem is that the US has attacked and seized two of our valuable vessels and we have not responded at all (beyond keeping the Strait closed)
Are the US commercial vessels using the Strait of Hormuz in the first place?
We need to extend the blockade to the Bab el-Mandeb, it seems. That seems to be the right card to play now.

The Houthis of Yemen have surprised me. It's either Iran doesn't want to play that card yet, which seems weird, or they are far more useless than I thought.

you're right, that is the perfect response to the naval blockade.

Trump backed down

but maintains his blockade

this status quo is not ideal for either side, but it seems the US found its answer to Iran closing the Strait

If Iranian oil and tankers keep flowing then Iran can keep the blockade going for years, decades even

The U.S idea is if they force a total blockade then Iranian oil can't go out then Iran is suffering also, and the U.S hopes that's enough to force Iran to open the Hormuz and accept terms

The reality is the U.S is desperate and can't keep the Hormuz controlled for too long
