Indus Water Treaty: Discussion, News & Updates

Maybe they can’t keep their position on the IWT suspension active anymore as they have been found in violation of the treaty by all concerned.. so they are trying to score a win on something even though they have to retreat anyway.

Pakistan should say no thanks..
A number of explanations for this chatter.

Most likely, this nation of delusionalists probably has realised that diversion of water with underground canals is beyond their capabilities either absolutely or, at least, expeditiously. Perhaps the best they can hope for is some project 40-50 years down the line, during which time Pakistan will remain unharmed. Over that same period though, Pakistan's squeeze on their aerospace industry will remain critical and decisive. By the time they can even begin to apply this river leverage, their airlines may start to actually go bust.

Hence they are panicking now, as (like always) they are making threats on something they are nowhere near ready to deliver on.

If the CLOWNS in charge of our government would simply call their bluff, we would see this play out.

Indeed, why on earth would this qom that wants us all dead suddenly seek a "conversation" on ANY matter? Is it not obvious that they are feeling significant economic pain? Does anyone here (apart from "Aman ki asha" loonies) ACTUALLY BELIEVE that Delhi is suddenly wanting to be our friend just for the sake of peace and harmony? Seriously?

820 MW Kirthai-II is the third hydroelectric project planned on the Chenab to receive approvals since the suspension of the Indus Water Treaty.

This one is run of a river type so will hardly cause any real or imaginary problem for Pakistan other than probably raised anxiety levels for few.

Why budget allocation reduced if Indus waters are so existential for Pakistan?

Just make noise and do nothing?

Once China fully establishes itself and the US becomes stable after the current admin is gone, we can expect the rule of the law will restored.

Legally breaking an international recognized water treaty by using dubious reasons: terrorism (unproven and without facts linking it to Pakistan), Pakistan needs to continue to build on its credible conventional forces and take this case to the ICJ or equivalent. It should be a clear win in the court of laws which then provides a strong justification for military action in Kashmir which I fully believe that Pakistan is very much capable to start.
The issues of Kashmir from the Pakistan side went quiet. It doesn't go away from the UNSC just because a nation decides it could do whatever it wants. Another strong reason that provides authority for military operations which includes support to Kashmiri people in their struggle to gain freedom from an occupying country.

Once the decision is documented, then it opens up other legal ways to deal with this. Restricting the oil from the Middle East to the Indians as an added pressure as the Saudis, Iranians, and Qatari owe Pakistan for the current mess everyone else in.

I know the Pakistan military is preparing fully for a military confrontation and I fully support it.

There should be no deal to open up the air space in return for the IWT. Pakistan has a strong justification for the air space closure as the Indians used commercial airlines ALOCs to conduct terrorist attacks on Mosques; thereby putting the Pakistani and international airlines in dangerous situation where they could have been shot down. The reckless behavior alone is enough for a long ban.

Money diverted to missiles to blow up dams. This much should be obvious to the napaak qom to our east by now.

I’ve observed that 90% of these indian vermins who come to our forum tend to be some of the uneducated and low class types with no critical thinking skills whatsoever.

They are deserved to the starved out just like good ole Churchill did.

Take a look at their “highly educated” foreign minister and look at how he talks, no different than your average street sh*tter come running here.

Just look at Lindsey Grahams body language after “laser eyes” talks like he’s acting in a Bollywood movie like some main character energy tough guy. This is an international forum mind you.

The reality is more nuanced.

Their population has actually been dumbed down by the BJP government. Under Congress, they had a genuine untermenschen class of elite performers who delivered their narratives intellectually and with gravitas.

Now, as you say, they all think they are in a Bollywood movie, marching to civilisational glory every time they fahrt.
