Pakistan and Kuwait discuss expanded defence pact, sources say

Pakistan should stay out and fix it's own security problems which seem to be getting worse.

Well then , you can also see the cake tomorrow.....our services are not for free.
Kohi cake shake nahi ana. Bahi jaan aaj tak I have not seen any cake!

I have worked in the UN system, represented Pakistan and have worked in the GULF, these people don't really see us as partners, merely pawns... I have not seen any cake for our country. And I am too old in the tooth to be persuaded or taken in with any false notion of Ummah.com

All this talk of cake - let's see an actual size of the slice before we talk fiction.

Perfect time to step in

Sitting on your hands won't achieve anything

Take strong steps to make these alliances

And then negotiate for investment, visas, weapons sales and military funding

Finally use newfound influence against enemies like India and Afghanistan, get them all kicked out

Saudi, Kuwait, Qatar Iraq are all on the line, time to reel them in

Pakistan needs to act, we can't waste our time constantly dealing with the worthless Afghanis and their endless fassad and problems or the BLA

As long as the fassad is kept to the tribal areas, Pakistan should aim to safeguard Pakistani strategic interests home and abroad

But they weren't dragged into a war with Iran instigated by a useless U.S that sold them up the river

Times are changing and Pakistan should be active

@M. Sarmad
we should have a thread on tribal culture. Even if Pak is not poor, these people would still consider us inferior and subservient.

At what cost though? Cost benefit analysis has always been Pakistan's weak point.

Kuch zada he na ho jaye!

To this day, that was the correct decision

The Taliban are scum, because Afghans are scum

But the Taliban is largely isolated

The Afghan Republic with the U.S, NATO and Indian presence was a absolutely deadly strategic threat to our interests and Pakistan

The hope was that Pakistan and afghans could move forward on better terms, but afghans are Afghans

If we had to do it again, WE WOULD do the exact same thing, because getting the U.S our, destroy 20 years of Indian investment and planning was VITAL

A Afghan Republic working with India and the U.S was dangerous

The Taliban even with their Indian dick riding, is isolated and investment in Afghanistan difficult, especially with both Pakistan and Iranian routes closed

We need to be active and take advantage of opportunities and we have an opportunity

If we want tools against our enemies, this especially means India, but also the Afghans and BLA Baloch,,, then these steps are vital

Yeah sure... Let's keep kidding ourselves as we sleepwalk into another shitstorm!

You know, a lot of people don't understand one very important factor...

Our conflict with India is a FROZEN conflict. Meaning it can reignite at anytime.

We have an insurgency inside our own borders, and hostile neighbors to our east and our west. Then you want to go and play security guard for the gulf? Pray tell what do you think will happen if this war leads to a regional conflagration in the middle east and our Pakistan Security Services PVT Limited are put to the test?

What then?

And all these people talking about LETS GO! SECURITY GUARD!!! YAY!!! Are you going to be the one taking bombs and bullets? No, it will be some young man from Kharian who doesn't even know why he is there or what he is doing there in the first place.

I am very patriotic, but I do not confuse patriotism with stupidity. All this that is going on this is not a game of checkers, its Chess... "Big Boy Chess" that some people feel like playing, these chess pieces they will burn fingers.

You know that the King is the most important piece on the board in a game of chess, but the king is also the most vulnerable, that is why the phrase Shah Mat exists... "the King is helpless".

...

We would do well to remember this!

You don't sell insurance on a house that is already on fire. The Kuwaitis may be desperate, but they are not stupid. They will pay, but only for commitments that will impose very high risks and costs on Pakistan.

The Saudi situation was unique and different because of historical ties and the fig leaf that the pact was directed at Israel or even Yemen. Even so, those who negotiated on behalf of Pakistan seem to have sold the nation short. In return for the risks it has taken on, Pakistan has not even been fully compensated for the rupture with the UAE, which was one of the consequences of this pact. In the case of Kuwait , the risks are much greater than any compensation that can be reasonably expected.

You are of course right about manpower and weaponry constraints when we have multiple enemies

However, if those states wish to fund further weapons purchases and raising more Pakistani divisions so we have extra capacity to support them, then it's a win win

Pakistan will be lookin for complete finding of multiple weapons purchases as well as funding for weapons programs

You can look for the negatives and you will find them

But we need to be clear about the opportunities
