Right now, they aren't. And so isn't Iran, but the US and Israel bombed Sharif University of Technology and hit the Center for Computation at the end of the main street of the university, next to the Department of Philosophy. Both buildings have been destroyed. They also hit Malik Ashtar University, and Imam Hussein University among others.1.- US is neither bombing universities nor desalinization plants. Viceversa, they just have been warned by IRGC that doing so all energy infraestructure accross all the region will blow up.
Also, they did attack water desalination plants in the south, most famously in the Qeshm Island.
Parchin has been hit in recent weeks, which is in the Province of Tehran, and is one of Iran's major missile sites. And it's long been speculated to be a nuclear site too.2.- US is even not bombing main cities (no bombing reported in Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Tabriz or Mashhad). Their industrial centers therefore are still producing weapons for the theater in Straits of Hormuz.
