The Case for Pakistan as a Civilizational State

Technically no, since there was no country by that name. Of course you probably mean present-day Iran.

Yes it so. Even "Greece" did not exist at that time. Only as a pan-ethnicity but no country as Greece was recorded at that time.

When you start getting technical, india wasn't colonised either. It did not exist. The British literally named and created india.
Most of the countries in the world did not have their names so they were not colonised either i suppose.

Let's not create confusion, when people refer to being colonised they're not referring to the present day name, it's the land and the people.
The point made by watander sahib was extremely relevant and historically accurate.

Another clown. You're right - could almost be one of our own Indian guests on this very forum.

Doesn't matter that the Indus was named after anything in the Vedas. Doesn't matter that the inhabitants are now monotheistic.

If either of these did matter, druids and shamans could lay claim to Britain immediately and drive out all white Christian anglo-saxons from that land. In fact, we are more native to Pakistan than anglo-saxons are to Britain.
This is a great comment

That's what I meant. And since Alexander is mentioned, he was from macedonia, now a Greek province. He was not from the Macedonia that took up the name.

Likewise he conquored Ancient India, now Pakistan and not the country that took up this European-given geographical name

If what you postulate is true, provide one instance of historical record of any event in Urdu language that predates the Moguls.
I just did. Open the link and see professor Bailey's writing. He was a researcher on this topic. Are you?

He did not conquer ancient India since no such thing existed, it makes no sense.
He conquered the indus region. Let's try to concentrate on word choice, poor word choice can destroy an entire argument and distort historical facts.
Alexander never set a foot in India.

Find me someone indigenous. Had enough of white people telling brown people what their history should be.

Hafeez Mahmood Shirani.

Now what, you'll ask for more. It seems you dislike Your fictional narrative of history being refuted so you are moving the goalpost. What of those quotes I posted? I can even post a couple of Bharati sources. A third one has gone off-line.

Ancient India is the Indus region. That is what India meant in ancient times. Land of the Indus region. That's what ancient Greeks called the Indus land.

Modern "India" is not the Indus region; hence not ancient India. Just as Alexander was from Ancient Macedonia, now a Greek province.

He was not from today's Republic of Macedonia, which claims the name.

But unlike self-hating Pakistanis, Greeks are very much proud of their heritage and very protective of it.

Despite being, devout Orthodox Christians, they still acknowledge their pre-Christian ancestors. Same for Italians. Proud Catholics, but proud of their pre-Christian Roman civilization.

Not so for Pakistanis. As a result, another self-loathing population has taken up our identity and heritage.

We should have fought to protect it since our independence. But we still can.
