PAF to Convert Bombardier Global 6000 into a SOJ Electronic Warfare Platform in Cooperation With Turkey's TAI

Next time, for God's sake, buy a new aircraft...

Looks like the Turkish and Pak military industrial complexes are entwined like the Siamese twins. Even if the Turkish defense industries produce a balloon (king sized of course) or hatch a pigeon Pak will acquire that....

the service life of the airframe will exceed the service life of the systems onboard it. Just the engines have an overhaul time of 8000 hours, the actual airframe itself atleast triple that.

Why pay $50m for a new airframe, when a used one will cost 1/3-1/2 that? While literally exceeding the lifespan and the update of the sensors onboard lol

It's on the roadmap, but it doesn't seem like the PAF has pulled the trigger on the program yet. I also wonder if they'll loop in Aselsan (for HAVASOJ) or go for some other suite. @JamD @arslank01 @Oscar
I think they will end up with HavaSoj, it seems to be the easiest option for conversion, even the turks have gone the already tried and tested route, using modifications to the airframe already in service to base it off of- i dont think anyone else has a comprehensive suite on offer like the turks do either right? Leonardo, the Chinese, etc all have parts, but nothing complete. Though i guess the positive thing about this all is that the PAF will likely standardise on the global platform and seek our globaleye some day. Though a part of me wishes we had just bought up all of the Lineage 1000E's available on the open market and standardized on them

The Pak Deep State, like always, is as clever as hell! My eldest uncle used to say: be a dacoit, but not a duffer!! Hence, I am addicted to the the PDF...

re reading it- you're right, its very wishy washy, nothing to conform havasoj, rather, theyre saying TAI would do the conversion, not to havasoj however, hmmm

nothing to do with that, no clue what this even means but the forces have always sought second hand airframes as the lifespans are likely never going to be touched and the depreciation has already occured.

Congrats on Pakistan Airforce for signaling intent to enhance the AWACs capabilities for a vast area observation

In term of Old vs Used craft , these crafts are generally very versatile with dedicated care they can last long time

Which platform does Havasoj operate from bro?

Bombardier Global 6000

The first of 4 HAVASOJ enter service in 2026

HAVASOJ technology based on Aselsan KORAL-REDET-2 EW Systems
but HAVASOJ will have superior features than KORAL-REDET-2

HAVASOJ will combine many different electronic warfare capabilities on a single Aircraft
