Incorrect, Block 70/72's databus and especially EW suite is far more superior than MK1A.

BVR Combat is all about forcing the Opponent to take Evasive Measures by using his Jammers and Force him to turn away

Tejas MK 1A with AESA will have First look First shoot capability

So it can fire its BVRs first if it is at the Right Altitude as compared to the opponent

However a larger plane like Su 30 and J 11 with ample fuel and Many Missiles will definitely engage in WVR Combat before returning to base

So Tejas Can also engage in WVR with its Helmet mounted Sights and Asraams

But obviously Fuel capacity is its biggest drawback against larger fighters

Depends, MKI also comes with Astra mk1 and GaN based jammer and so does LCA, So close fight . Supersukhoi will eliminate LCA.

But Mirage and Mig29 in their current form will be eliminated by LCA.

Everyone, please keep providing updates on the specifications of the Tejas MK1A. So far,

1. the combat range for the Tejas is over 740 kilometers, compared to the F-16's 550 kilometers.
2. The total range for the Tejas exceeds 3000 kilometers, while it is 2027 kilometers for the F-16.
3. Both aircraft have 9 hardpoints.

The only advantage the F-16 has over the Tejas is its payload carrying capacity; the F-16 can carry 7.7 tons, while the Tejas can carry 4 tons. However, considering the size of both fighter jets, the Tejas is superior to the F-16 even in this aspect.

Those range numbers are not accurate bro. F16 numbers most probably are with internal fuel only. Mk1A is somewhat 70% of F16's endurance.

I think in thrust to weight rati F16 wins also the range of radars and jammers will be better because better engine

We have no datapoints for Chinese systems.

But if we try to connect the dots, that why PAF retired ZDK-03, and why since 2016 PAF was trying to get Selex radar and EW suite for JF-17.

While developing MMR is much harder than developing AEW&C’s radar.

Zdk-3 were legacy system acquired in 2006. At time when Chinese weren't as good as they are now with advance weapon systems

After almost 20 years, There is no point of keeping them if you have 10 saab awecs..it's just going to cost alot to even operate them as compared to cheaper saab

Whether the platform will get a new gen Chinese aesa based awecs is yet to be seen ..a possibility imo as that platform is much larger with better endurance

Mirages are mainly for Bombing raids. and will be flanked by better BVR equipped LCA or SU30 in the strike package.

Total power in Tejas Mk1/Mk1A is 40 kVA. In comparison F-16 Block 52’s electric capacity is around 60 kVA.

1 ) 18 planes readily available and can be integrated and used immediately

2. Low Cost may be 20 million USD a plane

3 Mirage 2000-5 comes with MICA ,RDY 3 , ICMS 4

We just have to add SPICE and it becomes Combat Ready

4 Longer Range than Tejas

5 IAF has An Old Fascination for
Stretching the Life Span of Old planes ,It gives them some Job Satisfaction

They put an AESA 2052 ,RAMPAGE And ASRAAM on JAGUARS
