HAL LCA Tejas: Updates, News & Discussions

well your deluded to think IAF has only LCA tejas

rather the mainstay of IAF attack is UPG Mig29 & Mirage2000 or SU 30(which too are upgraded with GaN based Virushka AESA radar , Software defined radios and SATCOM LINKs & new Cockpit insturmentaions and mission compouters )

LCA is just a POINT DEFNCE fighter for LIGHT ESCORT or LIGHT INTERCEPTION or LIGHT AIR SUPPORT/STRIKE roles as the last line of defnce of IAF and will always fight inside indian airspace

but your F16 or JF17 or J10 all need LONG LEGs and good payload capacity which other than F16 and J10 to some extend no other PAF mainstay like Mirage III or Mirage IV or JF17s or F7 can do as all of them need to cover at least 500+ Km with at least 3500-5000Kg of weapons and fuel to do any damage and get back safely which is out of there class

and yes just cause there is a supply chain problem with GE404 engines most Pakistani members are dancing with glee forgetting USA also has elections and new things already taking shape and be it Democrats or be it Republicans no one is going to make an enemy with india for a nation like Ukraine just cause India is buying crude oil from russia ... you guys also celebrated 15-08-2019 as a great day and your ISI chief went to Kabul and had tea there now look how many body bags those same GOOD TALLIBUNNIES are sending you

moral of the story ..... dont celebrate too early ;) :P
Where in my post did you see may say that IAF only has Tejas? Which is what you started your long boring reply with?

Unfortunately we don't live in the ideal world of utopia where by now
India had already inducted 200 Tejas mark1a in 10 squadrons with decade plus of service in batches ...
So we start late behind our competitors especially china ...

But the eco system and the funds to acquire such numbers is in place
Better late then never

Let's learn from mistakes and get things more efficient in mark 2

Then absolutely nail Amca in 2035

More good news not only the GE 414 tie up to manufacture in India but
This new today

This is spinning bad news as good. They spent 4 years trying to integrate Derby with SU-30 and Tejas and now failed. Now another 4 years will be integrating Astra.

The clown show goes on....

The clown doesn't know that the Derby is already integrated with the Tejas Mk1, tested and in service with both the existing Tejas Mk1 squadrons.

Also doesn't know that the Astra Mk1 is already integrated and tested with the Tejas Mk1, Mk1A and Su-30MKI.

With Astra Mk2 testing this year, it makes absolutely no sense to integrate a shorter range BVRAAM imported from another country. But of course, you're a troll, desperately trying hard to win an imaginary brownie point in your internet world.

BTW, the pilot in question (and in the cockpit of the Tejas) is Air Vice Marshal AP Singh, former NFTC test pilot who later went on to become Chief at NFTC.

Derbies were already integrated with SU 30 and Tejas. Astra have better range and comes at much cheaper cost.

Yes, everything Indian is better, look at India's missile sales record compared to Israel and Russia. Much better.

Derby ER is what is being referred to in article, helps if you read it before commenting on it. Not that it has stopped you in the past i guess....

How difficult is it understand for you ?. India is not buying Derbies in future..
I-Derby range is 80-90 km
Derby ER range is 100 km.
Astra MK1 is already better than both. MK1 will replace all other BVR of this range in future.
MK1 is already integrated with SU 30.
For the rest of the fleet process is going on.
