The way we find that 'Super Sukhoi' Su30 is continued to be used for nuclear weapons operations, Rafale didn't fulfill the expectations. During last century, the Mirage2000h was used for the purpose.....
Using Rafale within Indian territory is very sad. Rafale must be proved to useful to cross border of China - Pakistani

Rafale were always for SEAD/DEAD & DEEP STRIKE or so called SPEAR HEAD type roles but are to be used for nuce dilivary

Super sukhoi's were always be like massive BOMB TRUCKS with very massive Radar or AWACS+BOBM TRUCK and modifies Su30 can also be used for nuclear dilivery

MK1A is for light Air To AIR combat , Ground Support & also SEAD/DEAD limited strike roles but could also be modified to carry nuces or lighter verssion of ALCMs or Supersonick bhramose cruise missile


while the main stay of IAF in future will be MK1A & SU30 and AMCA hopefully followed by rafale in numbers

I like LCA mk1. its mainly to be used in place of Mig21s, for the operations/needs within Indian territory.
LCA mk1 is proved to be more useful than MIrage2000h and could be able to match with Mirage2000-5 version also
its as good as Mirage/Rafale for Air Superiority operations and can be used for operations in outer territory also, in tough time

all IOC & FOC LCA MK1 aare to be converted to MK1A level once all 83 MK1As are dilivered

now a single LCA MK1A is almost twice as potent in terms of radar & counter measures but has almost 1/3rd the RCS value of Mirage2000 and carries same mmount of Air to Air Missiles with couple of LGBs or PGMs hence qite good replacement for Mirage2000-5 or far far better than Mig21 hence

a single & fully loaded Rafale or even a fully loaded SU30 with three MK1As in wedge/kartikeya formationis like perfect attacking combo and if IAF has that type of wedge's at least in half a dozen points just think how will they strech the PAF's assets and what do they have to stop them

and with 270 su 30 and almost 40+83+97 LCAs & 36+36 rafales is more than enough with 36 su57

Text doesn’t convey emotions - Im not angry rather a wry remark on why do it.

But regarding technology - Yes - western defense tech is very good but it’s no longer “ages ahead” - do you want to see an example of where that’s happening just look at Lithium ion batteries - China leads the west. The take electric cars -

Tesla is mass produced trash in my view but still great in automation , then look at Lucid - what a beautiful vehicle - excellent motor tech, handling dynamics and so on.

Yet, BYD is creating the space for similies and other companies in China are providing cars at lower price, greater production capacity and additional features . Europe is taking them - so compare that to western tech and today LM, Raytheon and Dassault are leading but their pace of innovation is slowing down whereas China is not only nipping at their heels but looking to outpace their development in some areas.

Why? Because of a shareholder mentality - not because anything has happened to American ingenuity but corporate greed has come in to slow it all down.

So while the quality (Boeing is now an exception of where its going down) is expected - China is catching up in both features and quality as well.

To assume that the 1970s F-6 with 100 hours overhaul still represents China is a mistake and to think that still having western equipment guarantees success is a MISTAKE.

India’s advantage is experience but it’s needs outpace what’s available to it at low risks and scalable costs - there is NO OTHER option but to rapidly go indigenous and there is no other option for the tax payer but to force a change in the system.

You have the luxury of not being cattle to an elite security state like Pakistanis - you have a functional democracy where these people are your servants!! Ask them, question them - see where the inefficiencies are and fix it.

Rafale is a great platform (if expensive purchase) but it’s not the next tier nor does it solve the challenges arising in some massive way.

For india to reach real development(not the fake one as being poetrayed now) Indian people culture and work ethics must change. But IMO this will never happen. It's inbred in our genetics to be a uncivilized, lazy, uncouth, moronic rice.

I would be very surprised if India buys su57

Firstly it's not a true stealth fighter still relying on speed agility and big radars...it's ncw and weapons mix Ew suites will be inferior to even Rafale let alone USA and china fighters.

Second India is looking to reduce russian military equipment in the future. It is prioritising Indian and western systems now

Third India is well on its way to develope and reveal the first fifth generation fighter the Amca two billion dollars allocated to this now

Fourth china huge fifth generation lead means only a F35 Induction of say 50/60 fighters will give India the leap in capability to meet the massive Chinese air threat now in other words Su57 is barley better than Indian super mki or Chinese flankers

In my honest opinion we should go for Rafale F5 with joining FCAS or tempest program while focusing on AMCA.... why spend money like a rubbish on expensive fifth generation fighters on the supplier Terms When we ourselves are a nuclear power with all sorts of nuclear delivery systems?

I know FACAS types too will come with some compromises but better to accept those for the sake of generation ahead technology than the current.....

well after wasting more than 25 years IAF is finally understanding that its obsession to get Russian or French fighters ONLY or for that matter maybe a few US made once had cripelling efects on its future plans
